she glance at the clock that was hanging inside her bedroom, in just ten minutes lucas will arrive and pick her up for dinner, just like what he had promise earlier this morning.

for the first time after years have passed, baram finally went on a date again--no! it was a friendly dinner where lucas wanted to start over and god baram prayed that everything will go well as plan.

it took years for her to stare lucas in the eyes and stand six feet apart from him. after all, it mostly wasn't lucas' fault from the start, it was because of jealousy and someone seems not liking when baram is around lucas.

baram didn't do anything, baram didn't plan anything to make lucas went head over heels for baram. it's what nature wanted.

"noona?" jungwoo knocks, gaining baram's attention from her closet as and went towards her bedroom door, "that jerk is here."

baram furrowed her brows before something finally hits her. jungwoo didn't know that baram gave lucas another chance and if he knew about it, baram sure jungwoo wouldn't be in the same page as her.

jungwoo hated lucas the moment baram opened her mouth and talks about him.

when it comes to lucas, jungwoo wanted to punch him square on the jaw or if he could, out from this earth and never come back.

high school was sure a torture for baram, he would always there to make her life miserable and whenever jungwoo found out what happen. he wanted to meet lucas eye to eye but baram always on his way.

jungwoo had his boiling point back then; what lucas did to baram didn't make sense and what did baram ever do to lucas that jungwoo thinks that he hates baram so much. lucas was the new kid anyway.

after jungwoo went fire, baram never told him what lucas did, even when baram got her job that turns out it was lucas' family business. he knew it was his when the scandal came out.

there's no way baram kept silent from her brother, he's the only person she can rely and feel safe with.

"jungwoo," baram took him inside her bedroom before closing the door behind her, "i can explain--"

"where are you going?" he asks when he saw baram neatly dressed from head to toe. his eyes widens when baram knew he knew something, "you're going out with that guy?!"

baram covered jungwoo's mouth when he yelled and gave him a light punch on the stomach that he flinch in reaction, "can't you not?"

baram let out a long breath before staring back to her brother questioning eyes.

"don't you remember what mother teach us about giving someone a second chance?" baram asks and saw lucas tense jaw loosen up.

"but he doesn't deserve a chance--not even second."

"jungwoo, i'm tired of hiding like i'm a criminal and my face will always remain in that video no matter what. i'm tired to feel like i live i have debt to someone," baram said slowly, "this is my life and i do what my heart chose okay? i may have drag you along with it but please just give me another chance to make our life back to normal."

"our life will never be normal if that person still lurks around us noona." jungwoo said, he opens the door but stop midways as he turned around to face his sister, "make sure what you chose is right that won't drag us both even more."

with that, jungwoo left. never in her life wanted to disappoint jungwoo and yet she did.
