"no" we say at the same time

"you payed for the date i should pay for this" i say

"wrong im paying because its a first date and thats polite"

"well then isnt it polite for me to pay"

"no your job is too let me pay"

"fine if you want to" i say knowing that im going to make sure i pay anyways

we get to the counter and he gets the tickets. before he can take his money out i hand my money in to pay

"what are you doing" he asks

"im paying for the tickets what does it look like"

"no you arent like i told you i have to pay"

"you really dont plus i dont mind"

we fight back and forth and eventually the ticket guy just hands us our tickets

"okay neither of you are paying just take the tickets"

"are you sure" he asks

"yes think of it as a have a good first date gift"

we go into the theater and find seats to sit

"im going to go and buy some popcorn and drinks just stay here okay" he says standing up

"are you sure you want to pay."

"seriously Lyss are you really asking me that"

"woah whats with the nickname"

"i thought it was cute"

"well now that i think about it"

"exactly now ill be right back"

he leaves the theater and i watch the previews as hes gone

right after he leaves my brothers walk in the theater and sit directly behind us

i turn around angry

"seriously guys first the restaurant then the walk here and now this"

"we just want to make sure its going good" jonah says from the middle

"well its going great so"

"okay good"

i roll my eyes and turn back around

once i turn around he walks back in the theater and in his seat

he puts the popcorn underneath us and gives me my drink to put next to me

"why dont we use these ones" i ask referring to the ones in the middle of both of us

"one it would get in the way of doing this"

he puts his arm around me and i can already imagine what my brothers are doing behind us

"two you just used a band pun"

"ew kill me thats gross"

"dont be like that" he laughs

the movie starts and i find myself putting my head on his shoulder

he kisses the side of my head and we watch the movie

after an hour in the movie i feel myself start drifting to sleep

i close my eyes and he whispers to me

"you shouldnt go to sleep this is the good part"

"but im tired" i complain

"well then never mind go to sleep but dont be mad when you miss the good stuff"

"it will be all over youtube and netflix soon ill watch it then plus your arms comfortable"

"i guess youre right well go back to sleep" he says kissing the side of my head again

i get the closest i can to him and fall asleep again

the movie is finally over and i feel myself getting poked 

i wake up confused 

"the movies over oh and by the way your brothers texted me saying they fell asleep so they cant pick us up so i texted my mom and shes here"

"oh sorry i fell asleep on you"

"dont worry about it" he smiles

i smile back and we leave the theater. i look behind me and the boys arent there

"be aware my mom is going to ask questions" he whispers as we get in the car

i laugh and thank his mom

"thank you for the ride sorry my brothers are too lazy to pick us up"

"its fine this was good anyways because i was close"

"oh good i didnt want to be an inconvenience"

we drive to my house and Cam walks me to the door

"thanks again for the ride"

"of course have a good night"

we get up to my door and before i leave he grabs my hand and turns me around

"tonight was fun we have to do it again"

"of course we will"

for the next couple minutes we stand there just staring at eachother

his mom honks and it breaks us both out of our trance 

"oops well i should let you go inside now its getting cold" he says 

"yeah i guess" i respond

he starts to lean in and i know hes about to kiss me. before he does i look to the side and see my brothers staring. i turn back around and his eyes are closed and hes still leaning. i take a deep breath and close my eyes leaning in as well

we make contact and kiss and for a solid 5 minutes we stand there arms around each other kissing and its the best thing ever. his lips are super soft and our lips fit perfectly.

i always hear peoples first kisses being awkward and weird but this just feels natural

after another 5 minutes his mom honks her horn again causing us both to jump
