Sam looked up when he heard shouting. Across the yard he saw you storming out of the house with Bobby close at your heels.

"Where the hell do you think you're going!" Bobby exclaimed.

"To get Dean back."

"And how to you intend on making that happen?"

"I don't know but I'll figure it out! I'll find some lore, a necromancer, something, but I'll figure it out!"

"Get back in the damn house you're being ridiculous!"

"What's ridiculous is that its been almost two months and we aren't one step closer to getting him back!" you yelled.

"He's in Hell (y/n)! There is no getting him back!"

"Oh I'm gonna get him back. With or without your help." Bobby grabbed at your arm but you pulled it away and kept stomping toward Sam to get to your car.

"C'mon kiddo just come back in the house and we can talk about it alright?" Bobby's voice softened as he tried to reason with you. "Then once you've calmed down and cleared your head you can decide on what to do."

"My head isn't going to be clear until he's back Bobby. How can I calm down knowing that he is suffering down there! Every minute I waste here is another minute that he's suffering because we haven't been able to help him."

"You're just in the process of grieving that's all," Bobby said. "You're just not thinking straight."

"I haven't been able to think straight for the past two months!" you exclaimed. "There's a constant pounding in my head that won't let me think or sleep and it's not going to go away until he's back."

"You think you're the only one that's upset here? That boy is like a son to me! You think you can find something I can't?" Bobby asked, his voice raising. "People have been trying to raise the dead since the dawn of time and the only one that ever pulled if off was the Son of Christ and I don't think you have that kind of power in your back pocket!"

"I'll figure something out!" You exclaimed. "Either I bring Dean back to me or I go to him. Either way problem solved."

"You go to him? What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Exactly what it sounds like."

"So your back up plan is just to waltz into Hell?"

"If that's what it takes because I can't keep living like this. I might as well be dead at this point! At least if I'm in Hell I'd be there with him." Bobby grabbed your arm and forced you to face him.

"(Y/N) don't go and do something stupid. That's not what he would want."

"I don't know what he would want but I'll be sure to ask him when I see him." You snatched your arm back and took a few more steps before pausing. "He would do the same thing for me. I can't do anything less for him." You continued on to your car. Bobby let out a ragged breath and ran his hands over his face before giving up and turning back to the house.

As you threw your duffle bag into your seat Sam rushed over to you.

"Sam please don't argue with me," you said in a defeated, shaky voice. "I can't take you yelling at me too."

"Where are you gonna go?" he asked.

"I'm not sure. I might try to find some college professors or a historian that specializes in ancient civilizations . Someone somewhere has to know something. I'll figure it out." You turned the key in the ignition and the car grumbled. You kept turning and turning but it failed to kick over. It just kept grinding. "Oh no, please, please, please. You know I can't fix you, just turn on." You tried again to no avail. You started sobbing as the car continued to fail to start. "Sam I don't know what to do I always went to Dean when this happened. I have no idea how to fix cars he always did it for me."

You covered your face with your hands and kept crying. You felt Sam wrap his arms around you.

"He did everything for me," you said, you words muffled by Sam's shoulder.

"I know," he replied. "He did everything for me too." You pulled back and wiped your face, staring up at Sam with red eyes.

"I have to try," you said softly. "I can't sit still anymore. I'm afraid of what might happen if I do."

Sam nodded understandingly. "I know. I know. Here." He laid a set of keys in your hand. "You take the Impala. Dean wouldn't want her sitting around anyway. I'll fix your car, alright?"

You clutched the keys in your hand and nodded.

"Once I do, I'll take it and do some research of my own. Double our chances of finding something."

"Divide and conquer."

"Try to anyway."

Sam grabbed your bag and walked you the Impala. When he threw the bag in the backseat he almost lost his breath. Laying in the seat was Dean's leather jacket, just where he'd left it before....before everything. He ran his fingers over the sleeve, the soft and scratched material both comforting and unsettling. He grabbed it, hesitating slightly for a moment, and handed it to you.

You looked at the jacket then up to him. He nodded and offered it to you again. You held it for a moment, rubbing your thumbs over it's surface. Your eyes were welling up with tears again. You were getting so sick of crying. You would have thought at this point your body would refuse to produce more tears. It's not like they helped anything.

You slid the jacket on. You throat tightened when the familiar smell of leather, cologne, and the slightest hint of campfire enveloped you. After the initial shock, the weight of the jacket felt comforting. It felt normal, and things hadn't felt normal in quite some time.

You put the keys in the ignition, the unforgettable rumble filling the air as the engine woke up. "I'm going to the south," you said. "It's an old region, plenty of lore there. Not a bad place to start, I think."

"I was thinking of going to the east coast," Sam said. "I think I might have found a few leads there."

"Sounds like a plan then." You grabbed his hand and squeezed it. "Keep me updated."

"You know I will." You nodded and smiled the best you could. He closed your door and you drove off, turning into the street and disappearing around the fence.

Sam looked at ground, rubbing his temples in an attempt to soothe his troubled thoughts.

One of you had to find something.
