Taboo

Taboo they call it

This self expression

This blatant

Body modification

A confession

Of inner thought processes

Unlocked from the cage

They've been held captive in

The efforts I have made to be like them

Just like Him

The man whose fist replaced fatherly hugs

Of fascination with his newborn son

Whose genitals grew out if proportion

To the etch a sketch version

Of himself

Herself

The girl whose hormones

Manufactured more testosterone

Than society deemed acceptable

Slapping on termininology

That can't begin to accurately describe

The feelings she hides

Born with the soul of a girl into the body of a guy

She commits suicide

Got tired if the thoughts plaguing her mind

The laughing of peers so she threw off the disguise

Slipped on some jeans and an old t shirt

Put on a smile like it didn't even hurt

After all there was nothing she could do

She couldn't even talk about it, because like you said

It's taboo.
