I read a book

I read a book;
A book like many others.
I wonder how many others did the same?
Forever I have been fascinated with the Great War,
And, of course, one great war was not enough,
We needed another so we could have two —
(that's twice as many books).
That made the Great War a first world war
To be followed by another, a second world war;
Or World War I and World War II.
But I wonder ...
Perhaps it will some day be known as one;
One long war with a short respite —
We had them before you know:
30 Years' War, Hundred Years' War ...
we still fight over the same things today.

And here it is November 2018,
One hundred years since November 1918.
My fascination continues,
I needed to read yet another book —
Another before the end of November,
Sort of my homage to those so many years ago.
I wonder if others did too?
