Selena's POV

"You're late." My mom stated when I took off my jacket, revealing my dress. My hair a was soaked, it was raining outside. I didn't mind though. I felt like I had to steam off as soon as I left Demi's house. I didn't mind walking alone in the dark. It was actually quite enjoyable to me. Even the rain didn't seem to bother me in any way. I placed my jacket on the heater and attempted to head upstairs unnoticeably. "Selena Marie Gomez." I could hear a stern voice coming out of the living room. I knew something bad was up when she used my full name. I quietly made my way back to the living room, as I could feel the blood streaming into my cheeks. I faced the angry eyes of my mom. "Do not ignore me when I'm talking to you. Where were you?" Shit. I hadn't even thought of a good excuse. I didn't want my parents to know about Demi. Not yet anyway.

I looked like my mom. Her blonde hair and round face were faced at me, as she wore her white blouse with some dark-blue jeans. She wasn't usually stern towards me, as long as I obeyed the simple rules she gave me. I knew exactly how she would react to anyone, what she would do in a certain situation and what words she used for her sentences. And right now, I knew I was fucked. It was the second time in 2 weeks that I was home way too late. All because of Demi. She made me forget the time or simply not care about my curfew. She made me forget about everything. And it felt nice.

"Well?" I looked at my mom, as I noticed I still hadn't found an excuse. "I was with Natalie." I lied. "Dressed up like that?" She raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing me. "Yes, we practiced our looks for prom, this upcoming month." I said. My lies clearly started to sound a little more believable. "Why didn't you just tell me?" She asked. She was right. Usually, I would tell her anything, where I'd hang out and with whom I'd be. But this time I left the house without saying a word. All I was thinking about was what Demi would look like on our first date. Was it even a date? And she looked so beautiful in that dress... Like a goddess. "Selena?" "What?" "You're a bit absent..." She said concerned. "I'm just tired mom, I'm going to bed. Okay?" "Hmm okay, night sweetie." She nodded. "Night." I couldn't close the door more quickly. I immediately wanted to check if Demi had texted me.

I tried to keep my sanity, by promising myself to at least walk up the stairs before taking my phone. I quickly kicked off my heels and groaned. Why do I always sound so stupid towards people? I quickly snatched the phone out of my purse and opened my screen. Nothing. There was no text at all. I wanted to facepalm myself. I was being so desperate.

"Natalie?" "Yeah?" The brown-haired lady with blue eyes looked up at me. She stabbed with her straw in the bottom of her strawberry milkshake. I had known Natalie for at least 10 years by now. We met at middle school, and hanging out at the café in town had become a weekly ritual to us. Usually, we'd finish the day off with a good movie or some shopping, whatever we felt like doing. Natalie was a grumpy anti-social person. Perhaps that's what made us destined to be friends. She looked nothing like me, opposites attract, if you will.

"Your relationship with Dave is quite.. stable right?" "Yes, why?" "I was wondering. Does Dave ever like... Take control?" I didn't know how to ask it more carefully. I bit my lip, rethinking my words. I hoped she didn't find me suspicious. A slight smile appeared on her face, as she seemed to find the question rather interesting. "What do you mean?" She asked just to put me in the torture of rephrasing my question again. "Do you ever give up your control to.. you know..." "Yes." She nodded. I didn't expect her to answer this quickly. "Really?" "Of course. It's part of the fun. When he can show off his masculinity. You know." I nodded, showing her I understood. "Masculinity." I repeated to myself. It wasn't really what I was talking about. "And you? What do you do?" I asked further, taking a sip from my shake. "When he acts all manly?" She asked, seeing me nod. "Oh, I don't know. I guess I let him do what he wants." "Entirely?" "Well unless I don't want it of course." She rolled her eyes. "Why do you wanna know anyway? You don't have a boyfriend." "No, I know. I just.." I thought of a way to let the question pass by without completely answering it. I didn't know if I wanted to let her know about Demi. But maybe I should...
