~ Monday afternoon ~

Your POV

I was sitting on John and I's bed, lyric book in hand. I was trying to think of lyrics for a new song, but wasn't having very good luck. As the media had so put it a few months ago, I was a "rising artist". For being "on the rise", I had quite a fanbase already.

Out of the few songs I had out already, most of them were with my close friend Cassie Parker. I've known her since I was in primary school and we've stuck together since. Little did my fans know- one, I was planning a small album, and two, I had dreams for a tour in the future.

Tapping my pencil against the empty page, I sighed in frustration. I had zero idea what I could possibly write, as I didn't even have a beat yet. It could be anything. Upbeat, slow, sad, energetic.

Setting my pencil down, I picked up my phone, opening Twitter.

currently: lyric crisis 101. I may be 'professional' but pls send help

It wasn't long after I shut my phone off before it started lighting up again. I couldn't help but stifle a laugh at all the sudden notifications, opening the app back up.

I smell overthinking. Step away from thy lyric book

I finally laughed at all the comments, seeing a pretty even amount of comments between people freaking about a collab and all the '(Y/S/N)' (your ship name w/ John) comments. I set my phone back down, turning to my lyric book again.

While trying to think of lyrics, I heard the bedroom door open. I looked up to see John walking in.

"Princesa, I told you to step away from thy lyric book," he teased.

"I can usually think of something, so I don't know why I can't now!" I responded.

"You need inspiration, or at least some more time. You can't force yourself to produce songs."

"Like you'd know," I muttered, looking back at the book.

"Princesa, I may not be a music artist, but I'm still an artist. I can't just magically come up with a painting and expect it to be good," John countered, coming over and sitting by the edge of the bed. "You especially need time and inspiration so not only will your fans be happy, but you'll be happy too."

I sighed, flopping down on the bed. "How did I get you again? Dios mío..."

John chuckled, moving so he was sitting closer to me and resting one of his hands on my arm. "I should be asking you that."

After a moment, I finally sat back up, closing the blank page and setting the notebook back on the nightstand. "I'll come back to that.."

John smiled. "Better. Now, I hope you remember what tomorrow is."

"How could I forget? Three years ago tomorrow was like one of the best days of my life!"

"One of them?"

"Um, the day I got a record deal, idiota," I teased, "that's the other best day."

John mocked offense. "Idiota? Rude."

I shoved him playfully, both of us laughing. After we stopped, John looked at me. "So I did have something in mind for tomorrow. It's not much, but it's to celebrate, y'know?"

"Lemme guess, it's another surprise?"

"Yep. Sorry, chickadee."

"And I was about to compliment you! Dios mío, príncipe!"

He chuckled, getting off of the bed. "I have more than one surprise for you tomorrow. I don't know if you'll be ready for one of them."

"John Laurens, you are not helping this case whatsoever."

"(Y/N) (L/N), I know that. You'll just have to wait and see~!"

~ later in the evening ~

John and I were starting our way out of Central Park, having gone out for a little bit. I was holding onto his arm as we walked. Glancing to the side, I knew my luck was being tested at what I saw.

Knowing the three had noticed me, I got a little idea. Randomly, I nudged John with my side as we walked. Looking at me with a grin, he did it back. I did it again and he pulled back, pushing me gently with his arms.

I gasped. "You didn't!"

He chuckled. "But I did."

I pushed him back, but it didn't do much. This resulted in a small shoving match until John caught me off-guard, quickly pulling me off my feet and picking me up.

I squealed, wrapping my arms around John's neck. "John Laurens!"

He only laughed, spinning around. I couldn't help but laugh as well, looking up at him once he stopped twirling.

"You suck!" I exclaimed through laughter.

John adjusted so I could wrap my legs around his waist, keeping my arms around his neck. "I had to get you to stop somehow."

"Mierda... What am I gonna do with you, príncipe?" I asked.

He smiled his usual cocky smile. "You're gonna put up with me forever, princesa. That's what you'll do."

I've been so productive today omg. I do want to try and catch up tho with the number of chapters Our World has before updates slow down, so that's why I've been at work all day

I ain't even tired of it tho, so no callin me out for 'overworking'. I'll never get sick of writing with John XD
