Long chapter ahead!

~ the next day - thirty minutes before the ceremony ~

Your POV

"Look at you! You look so grown-up!" Mama exclaimed.

"In all due respect, Mrs. (L/N), but are you sure this is your daughter? I've lost (Y/N) somewhere before we started," Angelica joked.

We all laughed, and I couldn't help but stare at myself through the mirror. There was only light make-up, and my hair was in curls (if it's not already). The dress was even more wonderful than I remembered, and I had a simple flower crown to go with it.

"Personally, I think Ange and I did a great job," Martha spoke, coming up next to me. "My brother's hella in for it."

I laughed. "Give him a break."

Martha waved me off. "(Y/N), sweetheart, my brother's strong, yes. However, I know him, I've known him for twenty-one years. He's gonna cry."

"What person doesn't cry on their wedding day?" Mom inquired.

"Not me," Mama responded, laughing lightly. "I'm pretty sure I couldn't stop crying actually."

Mom laughed, grabbing her hand. "We both were, doll. It's fine."

I pretended to wipe a tear. "My parents are too cute."

"We love two good lesbian parents," Peggy mumbled thoughtfully, giggling.

Mama walked over, placing a hand on my shoulder. I couldn't help but smile at seeing her look so happy.

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous, excited, happy. Did I mention nervous?"

Mom came over, smiling at me through the mirror. "It's going to be wonderful. Don't worry about it, angel."

I stood outside of the church, waiting for the doors to open any minute. I had decided to go against the norm by having both parents with me (I knew from the start I wanted to do that).

"Are you ready?" I looked up at the sound of Mom's voice, meeting her forest green eyes.

"I guess? I'm an anxious mess," I answered, laughing quietly.

"It's your big day, of course you are. How do you think Mama and I felt?"

I looked over at Mama, who nodded.

"(Y/N) sunshine," Mama started.

"Yeah Mama?"

"Remember to smile. Today's your day."

As if on cue, I looked up as the big wooden doors started to open.

It felt weird knowing so many eyes towards me. Performing at some event on stage was one thing, but this felt like something entirely new.
