I may have forgotten what it's like to breathe.
Forgotten how to take a breath of fresh air,
when all is right.
I may have forgotten that nothing is sacred.
and everything is taken for granted,
at least; once.
I may have forgotten that I pretend to be happy
a broken smile plays tic-tac-toe, and hide and seek with my happy childhood.
Scabbed Knees
bruised legs when you fall.
A kiss made it all go away,
mommy's love always did that.
But I've forgotten what it feels like,
to fall.
Falling was something I was good at.
I'd fall over my words,
over my own feet.
and then I learned to fall head over heels.
I may've forgotten how to smile,
so I tried to ask you,
and you laughed.
