I found myself staring
at the edge of life and death.
It took all I had,
to stop and hold on to my breath.
I took a step forward,
but ended up two steps behind.
I'm living free as a bird
but trapped inside my own mind.
I pound on these walls,
but no one can hear.
What if I scream?
and let it be known,
my fears.
I pushed myself, again
to stay away from the blade
Went to find a sunset,
with a beach
and some shade.
but all I found,
was this bottle of pills.
"god fucking damn it"
I need a refill.
So I sit and I stare,
at a wall that won't talk back,
I wait, in stubborn silence,
for my vision to fade to black.
Now I lay me down to rest.
I've given my all,
I've done my best.
If I shall die,
before I wake
I've given you all, that I can take.
My life has flashed
before my eyes.
Keep living my dear,
do not cry.
Live life to the fullest,
and make it last.
my memory will only live on,
in the past.
Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the lord, my soul to keep.
Remember, just because I'm gone.
doesn't mean, you can't move on.
