I was sitting on a railing, a knee tucked into my chest, and a book resting against it. "What are you reading now?" Alucard asked, as he suddenly appeared behind me.

"Something Sypha threw at my head earlier," I shrugged, "But do you have something better to do than follow me around?"

Alucard sat down on the railing next to me. "Don't you have something better to do than make it smell terrible in here?" He was referring to the fact the makeshift holy water smelled like literal shit. It was only so long before Trevor took it away and banned me from making anything else, leaving me with nothing else to do.

"Looks like neither of us have anything to do," I shrugged, closing the book and dropping it behind me. "But I wouldn't say Trevor making a mess of everything that's not a book is something to do."

Alucard scoffed. "Your relationship confuses me," he confessed. "One minute your fighting, the next your fighting for each other."

I smiled and stood up on the outer edge of the railing. "That's just siblings," I shrugged,
"like best friends to an extreme."

"I've never had either," the vampire told me, watching my feet with worry. I couldn't help but turn around, so my back was out to the open air.

I gave him a soft glare. "Really?" I questioned, "no one? Not even just a friend?"

He shook his head. "I aged quickly, so I wasn't allowed to socialize with human children, and there are no vampires of my age. Vampires don't really breed."

I couldn't help but laugh at his word choice. "But that's had to suck," I understand. "I couldn't possibly imagine that. Having no one to play with, no one to relate to."

"I had my mother," he said, "she was a very understanding woman."

I forced a smile and leaned into an angle, so my chin was resting on the railing, while everything, besides my feet, was out over open air. "I don't mean to go against her, but it's not the same. At least, what I think it wouldn't be." I laughed to myself. "Look at us, one of us with only parents, and one of us with only a friend." I was a pitiful laugh.

I did a backflip over the railing and ended up sitting on the floor against it. "Strange things, that even stranger things bring together." I scooped up the book at my side and flipped to where I once was.

Even with the change of my attention Alucard didn't leave my side. But my attention never stuck tot he book, from ideas popping in my head. "What was your childhood like?" I asked out of curiosity. I sat the book down and looked up at the blond.

He looked off in the distance, a far off look in his face, but held a smile. "It was just Mother, Father and I most of the time. More so Mother and I. Father would often study alone. But he never abounded us, and whenever he was around he never showed pit of anger. He always showed so much love. They both made sure I was properly educated, yet spare time for fun. Always filling the halls with laughter."

I closed my eyes and imagined it, a smile growing on my face. I glanced up at him, seeing a melancholy look in his eyes. "How are you feeling about all this?" I questioned. He glanced down at me in confusion. "About needing to kill your father," I whimpered out, "Or the fact I'm reading a book about your childhood home." I was hesitant to tell him what the book was about. But Sypha really threw it at me earlier, saying someone should read it, even though it appeared to have no information about how it teleports. It was more of the architecture and entry points and weaknesses.

The dhampire was silent for a moment. "It is what has to be done," he said quietly.

I continued to gaze up at him, even as he looked out into the darkness. I wasn't really sure what to do, but I knew I needed to do something. "I won't make you talk, but if you want to, I'm here," I assured him, placing my hand on his.

His hand shifted, to give mine a light squeeze. "You're too good for this world Vendta," he said again. All I could do was simply shrug. "But I do want to talk about it..." At that one statement, I stood up and leaned back against the railing, so the two of us could easily face one another. "I tried talking to him," he started, with a weak voice. He reached up and put a hand over his chest. "He wouldn't listen. My mother wasn't even gone a day and he was lost to anger and grief. " I could hear the pain leaking into his voice. "There was nothing I could do to stop him. All that's left for him is vengeance. There is no other way to end this all, my father needs to die."

No tears came from his eyes, but I could hear them. I leaned over and gave him a hug. not a tight one or anything. just one to let him know someone was there for him. A moment later I moved away from him, not sure if he even wanted the hug to begin with.

We just sat in silence for a moment. Of course, I needed to go ahead and break it. "I'm sorry, but I'm curious." Golden eyes glanced over at me. "Why aren't you on your father's side?" I knew I made a mistake before I even said it, but I was a being of curiosity.

The anger I was expecting never came, only a small smile. "It's not what my mother would have wanted," he said simply.

I nodded lightly, looking down at my feet. I couldn't help but think back to the woman's final pleads. 'Don't do anything to them. They don't know what they are doing.' No one was sure why she was screaming then, but now it was all too obvious. "It isn't what she wanted..." I mumbled in agreement.

The blond looked over at me in confusion. I could feel his golden eyes piercing in the back of my neck. "What do you mean by that?"
