Later in the day, Trey and I are preparing having everyone over and I'm on the phone with the caterers handling the food. It was only immediate family and friends, but with them being wolves, food was something we needed in bulk.

"Trey," I call out when I finish with my phone call. I don't hear him answer and I look around and still don't see him. Finally, I go to his office and see him there looking at something on the computer.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"Nothing. Just making sure everything is on track and no one needs me urgently," he explains. I shrug it off and exit the room, heading for my closet. As I'm rifling through my closet I feel Trey come up behind me.

"No." I say as he captures me from behind and rest his chin on my head, bending down to do so.

"I wasn't even going to do anything," he murmurs and kisses my neck.

"Sure you weren't. But I'm being serious. You just had me," I reply.

"So? Is there a limit on how much I should want you?" he asks. I have to laugh at that and then I turn to face him.

"No, there isn't, but we are announcing our engagement. I want to get ready and have pictures to look back on. Preferably with me looking my best," I explain.

"You always look good. Who cares what others see? I'm all that matters," he finishes.

"True, but I want to show our kids." This gets his attention and he's grinning from ear to ear.

"Okay, I'll leave you alone for now," he acquiesce. I shake my head with a fond smile as he walks out. I can never get enough of that man.

True to his word, he gives me time to get ready and thankfully leaves me to my devices. Goodness knows what he's doing to preoccupy his time, but I know he's probably driving someone insane. It's just about time for everyone to start arriving and I'm fully ready. For this evening, I chose to wear an emerald dress. Its form fitting and strapless and I'm wearing jewelry that Trey gave me. I keep it simple so that the ring is the main star of my ensemble. No sooner do I finish admiring my ring, do I hear a bang on the bathroom door.

"Jayde! Are you finished?" he yells through the door. I roll my eyes as I make my way to the door.

"Yes, I am. Why are you so impatient?" I ask as I unlock the door and let him in. He takes me in slowly as I do the same with him. This man can never get tiring in my eyes.

"Are you sure we need to let people know we're engaged?" he asks as he stalks toward me.

"I guess not. They could all just keep thinking I'm still your girlfriend, or worst, single." I say as I grip his biceps. They come around me and freeze as he takes in what I just said.

"We don't want to be late to our own party," he says and tucks a tendril behind my ear.

"That's what I thought," I reply with a raised eyebrow. He gives me a look and smacks my ass as I pass him.

"Wait 'til this stupid party is over," he mumbles behind me. I laugh and walk to the main floor of the house. As expected, everyone is already there and his family is ready to greet us. The party goes better than I expected and just as it's winding down, we hear a commotion outside. A guard then rushes in through the door and looks frantically around. Trey is with his friends and when he sees him there, he immediately rushes to him. I'm with my friends and across the room but I can sense that this isn't good. As the guard goes up to him, his eyes flashes and he immediately makes eye contact with me. He breaks eye contact with me and his eyes start glowing. He then turns and I see his dad is looking intently. This is when I know that they're communication through their link. In what seems like a flash Susannah is right beside me.
