I absolutely can't believe I am here. The last chapter. I can't believe after nine long months, my story is complete, and here we are. Nine months to the day I first updated this story, and the fact that I'm finishing it on this day was completely unintentional, but makes it all the more special. I would absolutely love it if you could give me that one last vote for old time's sake. Thanks for sticking with me 'til the end.

Make sure you check out my author's note at the end for my goodbye, and also news about Ebony & Ivory which will be up now x

He can't leave. This is my only remaining chance and I can't or won't let it slip through my fingers.

"No!" I blurt, all eyes turning to me."

I wait in wide-eyed horror as all eyes are focused on me expectantly awaiting my explanation for my irrational outburst.

"Sjana's carrot platter arrived that she ordered earlier," I mutter, noticing the recently placed tray on the food table.

Sjana looks at me as if I've grown an extra head before turning back to Harry.

"Come on," she says, pulling his arm towards the door while I can only look on as she takes something away from me that was once mine. I am helpless, and must be forced to look on as another girl takes the love of my life out of my grasp, and into something that I can no longer control.

He looks back one last time before he leaves the room, giving us all a small wave. I focus my eyes on him and only him, urging for him to stay. Hoping he will understand. I am left in a state of complete and utter hopelessness after his immediate departure.

Did he look at me before he left?

I think he did, or was it just my eyes piecing together what I desperately wanted to see?

"Are you alright?" Scarlett mouths to me as she catches my attention.

I nod in response to indicate that I'm fine, but I don't know how long I can keep up this façade.

"Show starts in less than five," an older man says, entering the room. "I need you guys to get out there now if you want to stick to schedule."

The mood of the band shifts instantaneously as this piece of information is relayed to them. Immediately they seemed incredibly amped up as they hop out of their chairs and jump around a little to loosen up.

Everyone walks towards the door while I falter back, taking my time to leave.

"You coming Ave?" Scarlett asks, looking back.

"Yeah, I'll catch up with you," I lie. "I'm just going to use the bathroom real quick."

The truth of the matter is, is that I'm going to leave. I can't sit through the show knowing that I've blown whatever was happening back there. It wasn't the same, but it still felt... right.

I know I shouldn't lie, but if I were to mention that I was leaving, then it would have become this big 'thing' and I wouldn't want Scarlett to miss out on the rest of the show because of me. I'll just catch a taxi home and tell her I felt ill or something.

I dial the number for the taxi when I hear the music start up, and they get into their first song. I cup the speaker and almost have to yell out the address as their song echoes through the narrow halls.

"Fifteen minutes darl," the woman informs me through the phone. A voice that just screams she is a 'pack-a-day smoker', and has been for the majority of her life.
