"I don't understand why you are so insistent with this," your husband says lazily from the chair he is sitting in. Your grandmother had insisted that house Tyrell and house Martell should join at last, so here you were. Married to a man that refused to stop fucking other men and women.

After his paramour was killed, Oberyn's brother let him get revenge for her, partly for the childrens sake as well. But after a year of him seeming to fuck everyone and getting drunk all the time, he had hoped that wedding him to someone would help straighten out his ways. But after being wed for over six moons nothing had changed.

"You don't understand? How can you not understand how insistent I am about you stopping your activities." Your yelling at him and you can see that this surprises him. You have never raised your voice to him before. "You are constantly fucking people without a care in the world. And you just expect me to be fine with it?"

"You are my wife. It doesn't matter."

"What doesn't matter? The fact that you are a married man and promised to stay and care for me until you die? Or is it that I am a woman and you don't care about what women say at all?" He stands up quickly, the red viper ready to attack at any second.

"Do not say things like that." His voice is low and threatening but you stand your ground. You never were one to back down.

"Why? It has been almost three years since she was killed. Your youngest children needed you, but you were off fucking every person that let you in their pants! And yet you insist on saying that I am yours and nobody elses."

"Because that's the truth. No one will ever touch you but me."

"You may come and go freely from these chambers whenever you have decided that you want to fuck me, the only person you should be fucking, but that doesn't make me yours. You use my body whenever you want, but my mind and my heart will never be yours, not until you are mine and mine alone."

"What are you saying?"

"I am saying that you will not be aloud in my chambers any more. My ladies have already gotten them set up and my gaurds have been told to not let you in unless I am awake and alow it or it is an emergency. Maybe this will finally wake you up."

"You can not do that, and how dare you talk about my daughters."

"Daughters that haven't even seen you since our wedding. And before you go complaining to Doran, you should know that I already talked to him and he has approved of this. If you try anything he will force you to leave. Now get out." He looks at you with pure hate as he storms out of the room the door slamming behind him.

You let out a releived sigh, moving to sit down shakily on your bed. The whole thing had been Doran's idea, and the sand snakes approved of it as well. They had told you what to say to an extent, some of thing you said were out of pure anger. It was hard seeing the man that was supposed to care for you acting this way, especially when you knew that it hadn't always been like this. You could survive though, you didn't need him and truthfully you had just started to ignore him all together even when he was inside you. You were doing this for his children.

They had lost so much, especially the youngest. Their mother was killed and then their father was away for a while and when he came back he barely paid them any attention. They needed him. You had become the mother figure to them, though you didn't care if they called you it. You looked after them, even the eldest. You played with them, made sure their lessons were going well, comforted them when they had a bad dream.

You could really care less about Oberyn.

----

"Any news," you ask Doran. It has been a week since everything had happened and it seemed that Oberyn had gone missing. Everyone knew that this was a possibility, but it had been a worse case scenario.

"No. Nothing from any of the whore houses. I've even had my men go inside and search them." You sigh, looking at the gardens below. Dorea and Loreza are giggling as they chase each other throughout them, the sight bringing a small smile to your face. "You have become a mother to them."

"They needed a parent of some kind and it seems my husband can't be one for them."

"He will. He loves his daughters so much, he is just going through a rough time." You sigh, bringing your goblet of water to your lips.

"I never thought my marriage would be like this. My grandmother said that it would pass once we were wed as it does with many men who lose their wives."

"I know, and I am terribly sorry. If I had known that this would contiue I wouldn't have had you wed him at all."

"It's to late for that. Much to late." You place hand on your stomach gently. "Are you sure it is a good idea to keep this from him?"

"Yes. He needs to start getting better before finding out that he is going to have another child. I beleive that it will make him realize that he needs to stay healthy." You sigh, looking down at your stomach. You were only a few months along, the maester said most likely two but no more than three. You were barely showing and it was easily hidden under gowns still.

"As you say."

-----

You shift in your chair slightly, trying to get more comfortable. You were so engrossed in this book you were reading that you hadn't moved since you had dismissed your ladies for the night. Your stomach was getting harder to hide now, your dresses barely fitting. Doran insisted that it be kept hidden so Oberyn could find out from you and not from rumors wherever he was.

A knock on your door startles you, the book slamming onto the floor with a loud bang. Your guard comes into the room, sword drawn and ready to protect you if needed.

"My lady, is everything okay?"

"Yes, sorry, the knock startled me and I dropped my book." You stand up and go to your robe and pull it on to tie it around you. "Who is here?"

"I am," a voice says, as the source steps into your chambers. Oberyn is standing there, a guilty look on his face. Your body tenses and you loosen the robe a bit, crossing your arms in an attempt to hide your stomach as you turn away from him.

"Where have you been?"

"Here and there, it's not important."

"Not important? You have been gone for months," you exclaim, letting your anger get the best of you.

"I know. But I'm back now." He comes farther into your chambers, dismissing the guard who closes the doors behind him. "It took me time to get what you said. But I've been trying to change."

"Actions speak louder than words," you reply, still with your back to him. You walk over to the table and pour some water into a goblet.

"Why are you not even looking at me? Are you still that angry?" You bite your lip, very unsure what you should do.

"Have you seen Doran yet?"

"No, I thought seeing my wife was more important."

"Well it's not. You haven't ever acted like a husband to me."

"I know, but I want to change that," he says, suddnely so close that you can feel his breath on the back of your neck. "If you will give me another chance."

"I don't have a choice, I have to give you another chance."

"No. I will have the marriage annualed if that is what you wish."

"It's to late for that." You finally turn to look at him. His hair has grown out slightly and his face is more gaunt than it was, but he wearing his usual yellow tunic. You untie your robe and move it so that your somewhat swollen belly is visible. "I'm with child."

"How long," he says, shocked, as he gently touches your stomach.

"About four moons. Oberyn, please, I need you to really try. I don't think I can do this alone." Tears start to build up, one slowly making it's way down your cheek. Oberyn cups your cheek with one hand, brushing it away, before resting his forehead against yours.

"I will, I promise. I will be here for my children, you, and this unborn child." You place a hand over the the one he has on your cheek. Yo feel so hopefull that your family could eventaully become a happy and loving family.
