My shoes hit the ground as I walked towards the rehab facility my mom was receiving help at. She'd sent me a letter about family day and I want to support her through this journey, especially since I'm gonna be a mother soon myself.

"I'm here to see Malisa Thomas." I said letting the security guard search me. I walked through the metal detector before grabbing my things and putting them on.

"You can take a seat at table eleven, she'll be out shortly." I nodded going to the table and pulling out my phone. I texted Asim telling him that I was here and texted the group chat with the girls, they were planning for Casey's birthday.

I locked my phone noticing the people in pink and black scrubs escorting people out in the sea of people I noticed my mom. Actually looking like my mom. Her beautiful golden brown skin was glowing, her hair flowing past her shoulders, she'd gained healthy weight. She looked regular.

I stood when she approached me and hugged her, my oversized jacket pressing against my stomach. She quickly let me go and looked at my stomach then back at me. I nodded letting her know that I was pregnant as tears welled in her eyes. "I'm gonna be a grandma?"

"I guess, yeah." I said as we sat down. "How are you?"

"I'm good Sincere, really good. This place is what I needed, it's not easy but I'm taking it one day at a time. Definitely. How are you?" I smiled liking what I was hearing.

"I'm good too, getting ready for school to let out. I have a job now and well, I'm pregnant so just preparing for the baby and whatnot." I told her.

"Do you know what you're having?" I shook my head no.

"Not yet but we plan to do a big reveal for everyone to find out at the same time."

"Is Asim the father?" I nodded. "I knew you and him were trouble, I remember when I found y'all kissing in a closet. Your father almost lost his mind." she smiled.

"I remember too. Or when Asim accidentally pushed me during that game of tag and daddy pushed him back?" I laughed remembering because Asim went right and told my mama and my mom dragged him back to our house.

We continued talking and reminiscing. "Oh, a few months ago there was a man knocking on the door and not saying anything just being weird, do you know anything about that?"

"Mm kinda tall, skinny, low haircut?" she asked I nodded. "Melvin's dumb ass coming by and scaring you, he's the landlord I tell him to come and check on you every once in a while. He bang on the door and stand there looking dumb? Yeah that's him, he thinks that shit is funny until somebody shoot his ass then what?"

"I was scared as hell, like petrified." I told her. "He's stopped now but it scared me half to death."

She shook her head. "He's a big ass kid, I'll talk to him about it. I meant no harm just wanted to know you were okay."

"I understand." Our time was winding down and it was time to say our goodbyes. "Well, this was nice. I'm glad to see you're doing better, I'm proud of you. I love you."

"I love you more, Sincere." I stood and hugged her. "My actions haven't showed it but I do, know that. I'll be out soon."

I gave her a squeeze before watching her go back into the facility fully. I needed this, definitely allowed me to let go of some old feelings and move on and forgive.

"You got this baby, keep steady headed and listen. Y'all have this, just do what you know." I told Asim. "This is your field."

He kissed my lips touching my stomach gently. "I love y'all."

"We love you." Although Asim has played excellently this entire season, the final game was always the most important and nerve wracking. Asim works his ass off the whole season just for this game, I know he can do it he just has to get in his groove.

I climbed back up the bleachers sitting beside Brianna, Casey, Bonnie, and Asim's family. "Y'all are too cute."

"Thank you." I mumbled watching Asim. He threw the ball trying to get it to Travis but the ball was intersected and caught by the opposing team. He took his helmet off walking to the bench's since it was the opposing teams ball.

"Fuck man! Fuck!" I heard him shout throwing it to the ground.

"It's okay Asim! It's okay baby, don't sweat it!" I shouted. "You got this!"

"He so passionate about this, I hate seeing him get like this." Bonnie shook her head as Asim still cursed.

"Man, I know." I agreed.

It was now halftime and the score was 21-7, we were losing terribly. I left from my spot on the bleachers to find Asim, I know he was beating himself up.

"Asim, stop it." I told him as he walked. "Calm down."

"We out there fucking losing to a shitty ass fucking team! We should be fucking up right now, fuck!"

"Listen to me. Acting like this and being upset with your team isn't gonna get you anywhere, you mad, take that anger out on that field Asim. This is your shit, your house, and your fucking game. Y'all are fucking up collectively so stop whining and crying and do what the fuck you gotta do." I took him. "Fuck everything else, play as Asim, cause this ain't him."

I turned and walked off with a smile on my face knowing that would put some fire under his ass. I went back to the bleachers just as halftime came to an end.

"Whatever you said, thank you." his father said as Asim faked a hand off and threw it across the field to Travis who caught it and ran it to our territory getting us a touchdown.

Asim nodded finding us in the crowd and pointing at us. This was my Asim.

"Aw hell nah bitch, I just put this hair in my head." Casey said as it started pouring raining. We were in double overtime with the scored tied 27-27. It was a good ass game, like those ones in the movies.

I zipped Asim jacket up over my mouth because it was cold rain falling and I'm freezing. "C'mon Mustangs!"

I watched Asim call the play and clap his hands, faking a pass he ran right up the line of scrimmage making my mouth drop. The whole game got quiet as everybody watched him run his ass off.

He kept running, hurdling over somebody and spinning before being tackled right there at the touch down line. We waited in silence as the referees reviewed the tapes.

"Point for the Mustangs!" Everybody went wild as I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding.

I ran down the bleachers to Asim who caught me and lifted me up. "I'm so proud of you!" I hugged him tightly.

"I swear I couldn't of done it without you." I smiled as everyone came down to congratulate him and Travis.
