Work was no longer comfortable for me. Working with a girl that I never got along with just made everything awkward but I'm not gonna let her get in the way of my money
"Girl them people gave me the run around for no damn reason and when they left they ain't left no tip. Ol cheap asses. Gonna come to this expensive restaurant and ask for a dollar menu. Go to McDonald's with that shit" Hannah vented to me as we sat in the back. I was halfway paying attention, eating a buttered roll and thinking about a bunch of random stuff
"Have you ever wondered who came up with the heart?" I asked before stuffing another piece of the bread in my mouth. Hannah looked at me confused for a second before answering
"The shape or the body part"
"Both"
"No.. I haven't but the question is what made you ask that question?"
I shrugged and finished eating the rest of the bread. Jamie walked into the back with a bunch of dishes in her hands. I watched her as she tried to carefully carry the stuff but it was too much so she was struggling a little. I looked at Hannah and she shook her head
"I'm not helping her" she told me before looking out the door "I got customers anyways, I'll be back"
I rolled my eyes and Hannah walked out to the floor. Jamie was still struggling with the stuff and it looked like she was about to drop a couple of plates so I went to help her. Just as two plates were about to fall I caught them just in time.
"You look like you struggling" I told her and she sighed
"I'm still tryina get used to this serving thing"
"Yeah it takes time.. some more than others" I responded while grabbing some of the cups and plates from her, placing them in the bucket to be washed
"Thank you.." she softly responded. I looked at her and shrugged
"No problem. Everybody needs help sometimes. Even if I didn't like you"
"I can't blame you" she shrugged "I was a bitch to you"
"Yeah you were. And you didn't even know me" I bluntly responded back before walking off to exit the kitchen. I had two tables I needed to go check up on

"Hey aunties fat man" I spoke to Kaleb as I stood him up on my lap. After I got off of work I decided to come to my mommas house because I miss her... and mostly Kaleb
"What brought you over here tonight?" Momma asked as she walked back into the kitchen
"Cause I missed y'all"
"Correction, she missed kaleb" Dana immediately spoke after me, keeping her face in her phone. I rolled my eyes and wiped his mouth with his bib
"You right but still. Shut up"
Kaleb reached out his arm and gripped onto my hair, trying to put it in his mouth
"Umm boy. Whatchu doing?" I asked him with my face frowned up. I carefully took his hand out of my hair and Dana laughed
"That boy bad as hell. Ain it momma"
Momma laughed and poured herself some kool-Aid before walking over to the table. She snatched the pacifier out of Kaleb's mouth and he just looked around. Eventually his lip started to quiver and my lip dropped
"Maa. Give him his pacifier back"
I tried to snatch it from her but she wouldn't give it to me
"Kaleb gimme a kiss" momma told him while she leaned her cheek towards him. As soon she got close enough, he grabbed her hoop earring that she wore and I dropped my mouth open. She grabbed his hand and took it off of the earring before pulling away
"You better stop wearing hoops around that boy" Dana told momma and she made a face
"Ima send you to your daddy little boy"
Dana's face immediately frowned up "my baby ain't got no daddy"
"Let Ben tell it. He is Kaleb's daddy" I told dana and both momma and I started laughing.
"That boy is obsessed with you and it's so cute" momma said to dana before she walked out of the kitchen. Dana smacked her lips
"Y'all corny"
My phone started ringing on the table so I sat kaleb on my lap and picked it up, seeing a FaceTime call from Kentrell
"Oh my lord" I sighed as I answered it. Not too long afterwards it connected and Kentrell's face popped up in the camera
"Way. the fuck. You at?"
"I'm chillin with my baby. Why?"
"I'm right here" he told me with a straight face and Dana rolled her eyes
"Kentrell makes me sick"
Once he heard Dana's voice he smacked his lips and sat up in the bed
"I should've known.... yo momma cooked?"
"No. But I'm going to pick me up something to eat before I go home"
"Yeah you do that. And get me some food too cause I'm hungry"
"You in a house full of food" Dana said loud enough for Kentrell to hear and he made a face
"Who asked you sir?"
"Stop being mean to my sister. I'm on the way" I told kentrell and laughed
"Hurry up" he replied before hanging up and I rolled my eyes
"Asshole" I muttered before setting my phone down and stood Kaleb up on my lap again "Alright I gotta go. Auntie loves you"
"Auntie better go home to her crybaby ass boyfriend cause she know how he gets when she spends more time with you instead of him" Dana told Kaleb as I handed him to her and laughed
"Forreal. Let me go home to my baby cause I'll never hear the end of it if I stay any longer"
I grabbed my phone, keys and purse then headed out of the kitchen, leaving the house to go home for the night
