Chapter 23 - Here

The stars were twinkling like diamonds in the night sky, scattered through far corners of space as the moon bathed earth in its silvery glow. Even though it was in the middle of the night, the mountain was alive with sounds and movements as nocturnal animals awake from their slumber and go about their activities.

A relaxed sigh left your lips as you burrowed into Bakugou's side, snuggling into the thick blanket wrapped around you both to keep out the night cold. You felt the arm around tightened, causing you to glance up at Bakugou who was smiling fondly at you – ruby red reflecting the genuine love for you deep from within his heart.

(E/C) eyes softened as you smiled in return, cheeks tainted a light pink. The world melted away and it was just the both of you with your hearts beating in sync as you gazed into each other eyes.

Bakugou lifted a hand and cupped your face, a thumb grazing your cheek. Your eyes fluttered shut as you leaned into the warm touch, letting out a pleased hum. No words were needed as both of you simply relished in the tender moment, enjoying each other's presence.

"(Name)," The blonde breathed out your name which sent a shiver down your spine.

You had always loved the way how your name sound coming from Bakugou.

"Yes?" You whispered as you opened your eyes to gaze into those brilliant rubies you had fallen for.

His hand, that was on your cheek, moved to tuck stray pieces of (h/c) hair behind your right ear and lowered his head so that his mouth was next to your ear. It was so close that you could hear his breathing as clear as day.

You willed yourself not to melt in his arms and focused on what the blonde was saying. "Do you know why I brought you up here to this mountain?"

Bakugou pulled back so he could look you in the eye, his lips curling into a smile as he waited for you to reply. You furrowed your brows, wracking your brain for an answer but nothing came up.

"No, I don't." You shook your head, a pout forming on your lips.

Chuckling, Bakugou rested his forehead against yours as the smile on his face grew to the point his cheeks ached from it, but it was the least of his worries. "I've meaning to tell you something."

His words caused a hitch in your breath and your heart began to beat faster. You couldn't help but wondered if what you had been longing for all this while was finally falling into place.

Butterflies stirred up a storm in your stomach as your eyelids fluttered shut once more with your heart thundering away in your ears. You could feel the ghost of his lips against your own and had to hold yourself back from closing the remaining gap between the two of you.

"Wake up, dipshit..."

(E/C) eyes flew upon as you reeled back to stare at the blonde in a mixture of shock and confusion, not expecting those words at all. "W-What?"

The strange thing was, Bakugou was still looking at you with a fondness which didn't match what he said earlier on. His smile only remained just as wide as he opened his mouth to speak again.

"I said..."

"WAKE UP DIPSHIT!"

You let out a startled gasp and shot out of bed, crashing onto the floor as your limbs got caught in your duvet. A painful groan left your lips, feeling disorientated in your half-awake state.
