Two weeks ago my mother trapped me inside,
One week ago my work occupied me,
Three days ago the trip outside was denied for
Four days ago the rain came to me
Yesterday my brother wanted to play,
Today there would be a party,
Tomorrow I'd still have to wait a day for
The day after a project would be due for me
Why is it that I cannot go outside,
To meet your warmth once again,
I remember the days when skin kissed sun,
I remember when I felt loved
But it wasn't my mother who trapped me inside,
It wasn't my work nor my friends,
It wasn't my brother who wanted to play,
It wasn't any family reunions,
Two weeks, one week, three days, four days,
How quickly it became routine
So natural it was to push things aside,
The one denying the sun was me.
