Arabella Winston

I woke up to cold bed , no body holding mine to theirs. I sit up confused and rub the sleep out of my eyes before getting out of bed. My feet touch the cold floor sending a shiver up my spine. I walk out of the room and cross my arms over my chest after putting my hair up in a ponytail.

I start to venture around the house and after checking all the rooms I stop outside Harry's office. I knock and call out his name.

"Come In." I twist the handle and slowly open the door. His desk in covered in papers and a mac computer sits on the corner. A couch is on the left wall and a big window sits behind him, the sun barely rising.

He smiles at me and I walk over to him and sit on his lap making him chuckle.

"Well g'morning to you to." His raspy morning voice fills my ear. I nuzzle my head in his neck while wrapping my arms around him.

"What time is it?" I question. He hums for a second and looks at the clock on the wall before answering.

"6:20." I groan and close my eyes. "Why are you up so early today?" I shrug and yawn before answering.

"Couldn't sleep." He hum and kisses my temple, making a warm feeling of content wash over me. I pick my head up and look at his desk. "What are you doing?" He tenses at my question making me regret it but he relaxes after a few seconds.

"I um, I'm trying to find my dad. But not to see him, I just want to know about him." I nod, deciding to stay silent. "You know he was also in a gang." I pick my head up at his new found information. "Like father like son." He dryly chuckles and shakes his head.

"What all have you found?" I hesitantly ask. He moves forward and grabs a paper before sitting back.

"Well the bastard is dead, he died of cancer a few years back. He actually moved to America after he left us and get this, he joined your dads gang."

"Really, that's weird." He nods and continues.

"Yeah he and your father were close, he was like his right hand man. But he got caught and went to jail for a few years and when he was released your father had already passed and that's around the time he found out he had cancer." I nod my head and move so I'm straddling him. I put my fingers in his hair soothingly and start to rub his scalp, making him hum and close his eyes.

"Harry?" He hums and keeps his eyes closed. "If your father was still alive, would you want to see him?" I ask carefully. I begin to brace my self for any harsh words, but surprisingly none came.

"I'm not sure, Arabella. I think maybe just to see why he did it. But I don't know if I would ever give him a second chance after what he did. We struggled the whole time my mom was alive after he left." He shrugs. I nod my head even though he can't see me. His eyes open after a few silent moments, revealing the beautiful emerald color.
