That evening was the last time I saw any of the Drakes.

Damien had, apparently, taken my request to heart, because every time I saw any of the Drakes, they'd melt into the shadows and disappear the second they saw me. I had taken the time to process everything and come to the realization that I didn't want to cut them out of my life. Especially Starlene and Sorina, who I could see myself being friends with. Now, all I wanted to do was find the Drakes and apologize for shutting them out.

Ella, Leon, and Ava had busied themselves with learning from their Sire, Gabriel, trying to repent for their mistakes and get their Daylight Talismans back.

For the first time in my life, I was completely alone, and the thought of spending anymore time like this didn't sit well with me.

I kept myself occupied though. I had Talia get me a sketchbook and just drew whatever was on my mind, which happened to be the Drakes. I had seen a portrait of the six Drake siblings in one of the corridors. I let my pencil run across the page, replicating the portrait I had seen. I started in the center where Alexandra stood. On her right was Gabriel. Then I drew two chairs, one on Gabriel's right and one on Alexandra's left. In the chair on Gabriel's right, I drew Starlene, while Sorina was sitting in the chair on Alexandra's left. To Sorina's left was Stefan. He stood next to her chair. And finally to Starlene's right, standing next to her chair, was Damien. I brushed my hand over the sketch. I had managed to replicate the portrait well enough.

I tossed my sketchbook aside and it landed on my nightstand. I lay back on my bed. It had been two weeks since I'd asked Damien to give me some space.

There was a knock at the door and I went to answer it, thinking that it was Talia. I opened the door and froze when I saw who it was.

"Oh, hello," I greeted him.

"Hello," Damien replied in his usual dulcet voice.

"I haven't seen you for a while," I said awkwardly.

"I'm sorry for that," Damien told me, "My siblings and I have been busy with governing the vampires as well as trying to track down your attacker."

"Why are you talking to me now?" I asked.

"I wanted to see how you were doing," Damien told, "I haven't exactly been the best host lately. And I wanted to ask if you've come to terms with everything."

"I have," I replied, "And I'm sorry for what I said."

"I forgive you and I'm sorry for the situation you've been put you in," he replied.

"It's fine," I assured him, "but I'll tell you how you can make it up to me." He raised an eyebrow at me, so I continued, "Will you show me around?"

"You mean like a tour?" he asked. I nodded. "Of course," he replied, "Where would you like to start?"

"I don't know," I shrugged.

"Then I suppose we'll start with the gardens," he told me.

"But I've already seen them," I replied with a raised eyebrow.

"Not all of them," Damien replied, "There's one you haven't seen. I know it's late, but I promise that the sight is magical."

We walked out to the gardens and down the path. We stopped in front of a wrought iron gate and Damien took a deep breath before opening it. I looked around. There were black and red roses everywhere. The middle of this garden had a large pond, with a massive willow tree in the middle. It was like a private oasis.
