We reached New York within a few hours after the call with Calder and immediately went to the airport.

"Mr. Drake, Mr. Drake, Mr. Drake, Miss Drake, Miss Drake, Miss Drake," an attendant greeted the six of us as we got out of the cars. Her eyes flashed red briefly, signalling that she was part of our world. "Everything has been taken care of," she told us, "Your jet is waiting for you on the tarmac."

"Thank you," I told her. We went through the airport and boarded the jet. As we were getting settled in our seats, Calder came out to greet us. He and I clasped hands and shared a brotherly hug. Calder had been my best friend for as long as I could remember.

He turned to Starlene and I saw his cobalt blue eyes sparkle as he laid eyes on my sister. He sheepishly ran a hand through his jet black locks.

Then he grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it tenderly.

"It's nice to see you again Star," he told her.

"It's nice to see you too, Cal," Starlene replied. Calder quickly greeted my other siblings before disappearing inside the cockpit.

It was no secret to me that Calder was in love with my sister. I wasn't blind. It was also blatantly obvious how much Starlene adored him. The problem was that they both kept skirting around their obvious attraction to each other. Stefan actually had a betting pool going on how long it would take for them to admit their feelings for each other.

Now I suppose most other men would prefer their friends to stay away from their sisters. I was not one of those men. In fact, I wanted Calder to be with my sister. Calder was noble, kind, smart, and caring. He had a pure heart and a good head on his shoulders to match. In my eyes, there was no one more worthy of my sister's love than him.

We all buckled our seatbelts and preferred for a very long twelve hour flight.

I could only hope that we'd be able to get there in time.

I couldn't escape my dreams. I had to sleep at some point. And when I did...the nightmares would start. They were horrible. The first time Damien had been shot with arrows laced with Hawthorn. But it didn't stop there. Marius used swords, axes, spears...anything he could think of really, to try and kill Damien in front of my eyes and break me down. He failed miserably. Because every time that he placed an illusion of Damien in front of me, I was able to tell that it was not my Damien. None of Marius' illusions of Damien had the scar on their neck that showed the world that we were bonded, and that helped me see right through the illusions.
