I went back to my room that night to grab the last of my things before I took up permanent residence in Damien's room. And once again, I found a vase of orange lilies outside my door. The card read, I understand that you're curious about me, kitten. Meet me in the field behind Cygnus Keep at midnight if you'd like to know who I am.

I tossed the flowers in the trash and took the card with me as I went to Damien's room. I entered and Damien immediately shut the door and pinned me against it.

I gasped in surprise.

"Damien," I said breathlessly.

He began to kiss me and I began to feel his desire, love, and devotion beginning to affect me. But I had to talk to him about the note.

"Damien...wait...I have to talk to you," I told him as I tried to get a grip on my emotions. He pulled away.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I found flowers outside of my room again and there was another note," I told him, "Whoever sent me the flowers wants to meet me."

"When?" Damien asked.

"Tonight," I replied.

"And are you going to go?" he asked.

"I don't know, I kind of want to go just to tell whoever it is to back off," I replied.

"Then we'll go, but I'd feel better if we took Star, Gabe, Rina, Stef, and Lex," Damien replied, "I just have a really bad feeling about this."

"I suppose having all of you guys there would help," I stated.

The two of us went and got the other five Drake siblings and went out to the fields behind the Cygnus Keep. Even Malcolm came with us, worried about the safety of the Drakes. I didn't blame him. This whole situation was really odd.

We reached the field and looked around.

"Hello?" I called out.

"Hello kitten," a voice greeted me. I turned and found Marius standing there. "Or should I call you Lady Mercer?" he asked.

"Marius? You sent me those flowers?" I asked, "That's beyond creepy."

"Or maybe you'd prefer a title more appropriate to the power you are destined to possess," Marius mused, completely ignoring me, "Regină."

I froze and my mind went back to the night that I was attacked. And I remembered what my attacker had called me. He had said Regină. The Romanian word for Queen. Why?

"Why are you calling me that?" I asked.

"What? Regină?" Marius asked, "That's what you are destined to be. A Regină. My Regină."

Damien took a step forward.

"I wouldn't take another step, nephew," Marius cautioned, "Unless you'd like to die of course."

We looked around as the field lit up with flashlights and my enhanced vision allowed me to see the various individuals carrying crossbows.

"I've been told the arrows are laced with Hawthorn," Marius smirked, "You won't last long if they strike you."
