The ending might not suit to the taste of others but this kind of relationship value happens true to life. Nevertheless I hope that you still enjoy the entire flow of story. Happy ending can not be just get or achieve by ways of getting back together or holding on to whom you know is loving you so hard. True happiness can be seen and felt by giving to someone's freedom even it means that you are stabbing yourself with a knife.
