Chapter 6: Not Here

Around an hour after Kai left (15 minutes after Skylor arrived) everyone was hiding around the top deck waiting for Kai to get back and surprise him.

Jay: Why is he talking so long?!
Nya: Be patient Jay
Jay: But I need the bathrooooom!
Zane: He could be back any second now so I suggest not moving.
Cole: Yea and stop whining!
Jay: Aww...

Another 10 minutes pass

Jay: Guys!
Lloyd: what?

Jay then got up from his hiding spot and ran straight to the bathroom.

Jay: I CANT HOLD IT!
Nya: Jay!
Skylor: Don't let him see you!
Cole: I bet this is when Kai comes back.
Sensei Wu: *sigh*

Around 2 minutes later Jay comes back.

Jay: Phew! That could've ended real bad!
Zane: Yeah, Kai could have come back!
Jay: I was talking about something else but, yeah.
Cole: I swear if you ruin this surprise Jay I will punch you into next week.
Jay: Jeez you're worse than Kai sometimes!

Jay: Are too!
Cole: Am not!
Jay: Are—
Nya: Will you two shut up?! You're both worse than Kai!
Cole and Jay: *Gasp*
Cole: How dare you! I'm offended!
Jay: Sensei Wu! They're being mean!
Nya: Don't snitch!
Cole: Why are you telling on us?
Jay: 'cause you're being mean!
Sensei Wu: Enough! All of you, apologise to each other!
Nya: What!? But they... ugh fine. Sorry boys.
Cole: uh... sorry.
Jay: Im sorry.
Skylor: Pfft! Hahaha! Do they always act like this?
Zane: Like What?
Skylor: Like kids!
Lloyd: Yeah pretty much haha. Although it's usually Zane they go to snitch on and he acts like the mom of the group!
Skylor: Hahaha!!!
Zane: Unfortunately it is true... and embarrassing.
Skylor: Don't be embarrassed Zane!
Zane: Hmmm...

Again, another 20 minutes pass with no word from Kai.

Lloyd: Shouldn't Kai be back by now?

Lloyd got up from his hiding spot.

Nya: Yeah I'm getting worried... He was supposed to be back half an hour ago!

Nya got up from her hiding spot.

Jay: Relax guys he probably is waiting in the village till the storm is over!

Jay got up from his hiding spot.

Cole: Yeah speaking of which I think we should go inside now. This rain is really starting to come down.

Cole got up from his hiding spot.

Skylor: But what about Kai?

Skylor got up from her hiding spot.

Zane: I'm sure he will be fine. As jay said he is most likely waiting in the village until the storm has passed.

Zane got up from his hiding spot.

Sensei Wu: I believe the best thing to do now is get inside and wait for the storm to pass and then wait for Kai.

Sensei Wu came around the corner as he wasn't hiding . (He didn't understand why he had to hide from Kai)

Lloyd: Hmm... Okay but if he isn't back by the time the storm has cleared, I'm going looking for him.
Nya: Me too.
Sensei Wu: Very well.

So they all went inside and waited for the storm to pass.

Around 20 minutes later

The storm was still going on and it was getting worse. Lloyd was in his room pacing. Worrying about Kai.

Lloyd: Where is he? He should be back by now!

Suddenly a knock on the door could be heard

Lloyd: Huh? Oh! C-come in.
Nya: Hey...
Lloyd: Hey Nya.
Nya: I know you're worried about Kai-
Lloyd: You heard me didn't you?
Nya: Mayyyybe? And I just wanted to let you know that I'm worried about him too! I'm pretty sure we all are, but Jay has convinced me that he will be fine. I mean he's Kai! He's strong! I'm sure nothing has happened.
Lloyd: Maybe your right... but I just have a bad feeling about this.
Nya: If he isn't back before the storm stops then we will look for him ok?
Lloyd: Okay. Thanks Nya.
Nya: Sure thing! What are future sister-in-laws for?
Lloyd: ...
Lloyd suddenly realised what she meant. And began to look like a Logan Berry.
Lloyd: I-I-... uh... wh-... *sigh* haha.
Nya: I'll leave you alone now ;)

Another 40 minutes pass. (Sorry I just realised how many time skips there are in this chapter but I don't know how else to show time has passed 😅)

Lloyd: I'm going out there.
Jay: You can't! It's still raining!
Lloyd: I don't care!
Nya: come on Lloyd I though we would wait until the storm stopped.
Lloyd: He was suppose to be back an hour and a half ago Nya! Something has to be wrong.
Cole: Whoa hold your horses there greenie!
Zane: If Kai has stayed at the village then most likely he will not return until the storm has passed.
Lloyd: The storm has almost cleared up now though!
Jay: Exactly! Almost!
Lloyd: But-
Sensei Wu: Butts are for sitting. Which is what you should be doing.
Zane: If you go out in that storm you will catch a cold. It's 2 degrees Celsius outside.
Lloyd: ... ugh fine.

Once again, another 30 minutes passed.

Lloyd: Nya lets go now!
Nya: Has the rain cleared up?
Lloyd: Mostly...
Nya: Okay. Let's go look for him.
Lloyd: Guys! Me and Nya are going to look for Kai!!!
Jay: Has the rain stopped?
Nya: Pretty much...
Zane: Take a coat! I don't want you getting sick.
Nya: Thanks Mom.
Skylor: Haha!
Lloyd: we will be back soon!
Sensei Wu: Be safe, young ninja.
Lloyd: We will uncle!
Nya: Bye guys!
Cole and Jay: See ya!

Lloyd and Nya then both did airjitzu off the bounty and landed on the floor safely. They could both feel the slight pitter patter from the rain on their hoods. Like Zane said, it was cold.

Nya: Wait so which mountain is is?
Lloyd: It's that one.
He pointed to Turwhile mountain.
Nya: Okay lets go.

They both began their walk to find Kai. Hoping he was ok.

Lloyd: Where do you think he is?
Nya: To be honest, I'm not sure.
Lloyd: Not sure?
Nya: Well... Jay said that he probably stayed at the village until the storm stopped but that doesn't seam like Kai.
Lloyd: Yeah I know what you mean. He isn't the type of guy to sit and wait for something. He would go out and do whatever he need to do without thinking twice.
Nya: Exactly! That's why I'm worried... because if he didn't stay at the village... where is he?
Lloyd: Maybe he... um... got distracted? I don't know I'm just trying to think what could have happened.
Nya: What If he is hurt?
Lloyd has a worried look go across his face then it was replaced with determination.
Lloyd: Like you said, he's strong. He probably fell asleep somewhere.
Nya: You sound like you're trying to convince yourself more than me. Haha.
Lloyd: Haha.... yeah I guess I kinda was.
Nya: This village should ably take around 30 minutes to get to so we will see Kai soon
Lloyd: I hope so... he has been gone for 2 hours now and was supposed to be back an hour ago.
Nya: I know. But let's just hope he is okay.

15 minutes passed

???: *cough cough cough*
Lloyd: Did you hear that?
Nya: Shhh!

Nya And Lloyd stayed really quiet and walked around looking for the source of the sound. They could hear some heavy breathing from behind a few bushes so they moved them to the side and saw something they couldn't believe.
