Cedric glared at a group of first years who were whispering and staring at Cygnus.

"Get lost." He says harshly, and they flee.

"Honestly, this is all a load of rubbish." He sighs, returning to his seat next to the Slytherin girl. "Everyone thinks you're related to that mass murdering lunatic."

"He is my Uncle, Cedric." She points out.

"Even so, what business is it of theirs?" He asks angrily.

"A matter of safety?" She asks sarcastically, rolling her eyes at the overprotective Hufflepuff Prefect.

"What safety? Everyone knows you wouldn't harm them unless they were being a right git." He huffs.

"Just let it go, Ced. People will talk, people will gossip. There's no use in trying to stop them." She sighs.

"I just don't like them talking about you." He sighs, looking at their transfiguration books.

Cygnus laces her fingers in Cedric's and gives it a reassuring squeeze.

Cedric squeezes it back, and in silence they flip through their books.
