Stephen and Tony ~ Two

Being in a room with Tony was an experience. You were bound to be called stupid or dumb at least once, even if he muttered it under his breath. He didn't mean it though, as he explained "the average human brain cannot understand things as deeply as mine" referring to himself as superior than us most of the time. The only thing that would get him to stop boasting about himself or how he recently discovered something in his lab was if you gave him cookies. Yes, it was that simple. Tony stark would shut up if you offered him freshly made cookies

And so that was why the rest of the avengers always kept a supply of cookies nearby. Ready to give him one and walk away if he started rambling about his new sports car or something.

You tolerated him the most. Sure he could get annoying and bossy and snarky sometimes but you knew he was hiding what he was truly feeling behind all those jokes. Using them as a defense mechanism instead of actually talking to someone about it. You had asked him if he wanted to talk about it multiple times, but he always declined stating that he had more important things to do

Today was a pretty average day for the avengers, going on a short mission before coming back home and hanging around (which usually meant making a mess, blowing up stuff, you know, fun stuff)

You were in the kitchen with Steve, throwing grapes at him to see how many times in a row he could catch it with his mouth.

"Alright Steve, if you get this one in its probably a world record of longest-grape-throwing-into-mouth-distance, so don't mess up" you said, getting ready to throw the grape, "no pressure though" you assured him

He smirked and prepared himself, his eyes dictated on the grape

"3... 2... 1...!" You counted, then threw the grape as precisely as you could, aiming at his mouth. He opened widely and the grape was about to drop right into his mouth but someone's hand reached out and it landed in that instead

"Tony!" You and Steve both yelled, but Tony looked unbothered as he held the grape in his hand

"Oh- did I interrupt something?" He asked, the corner of his mouth smiling as he poped the grape in his mouth. You crossed your arms and stepped closer to him

"We were so close Tony!" You said, and Steve nodded in agreement. He just shrugged and grabbed a magazine on the counter to read
"And by the way, the world record is actually 21.18 meters, and it was achieved by AJ Henderson-"

Both you and Steve simultaneously started fake snoring, pretending to fall asleep to what Tony was telling us. It was another thing we did when tony started blabbering on about science and other stuff

Tony rolled his eyes and you and Steve bursted out laughing as Tony continued to "read" the magazine. He was about to say something else when a strange buzzing noise came from the living room. The walls shook a little and the three of you immediately rushed to the living room, where glowing yellow sparks were flying around

The sparks seemed to form a large circle, and on the other side was a tall man who stepped through and in a blink of your eyes the portal was gone and the tall man stood in the room facing us

His hair was slicked back and he was wearing a long red cape. He looked like some type of wizard.

"Ah yes, you must be the Avengers" the man said, stepping forward. Steve somehow already had his shield and tony had his suit's arm on. You took out a gun from your boot and got ready to shoot if the strange man did anything weird. Or weirder than what had already happened

"Sorry- I should introduce myself. Stephen Strange" he said, extending his arm out but no one shook it. He placed it back at his side

"Strange?" You asked.

"Dr. Strange, yes" he confirmed. He walked across the room over to the window

"And what do you want, wizard?" Tony asked, stepping cautiously over to him

"Well I was informed that there was a robbery at the museum and the Avengers stopped it. But they also took something that is very important and I must return it. So if you wouldn't mind" he said, and looked over at Tony expecting him to give him something

"Sir, you must be mistaken we didn't take anything" Steve said, standing next to you

"Oh you haven't told them Mr. Stark?" Dr. Strange asked, looking to Tony

"Tony? What does he mean?" You asked tony, and he took a deep breath before answering

"I took a small device- I didn't think anyone would notice because it's not that important I just needed it to run some experiments-"

"Tony!" You groaned in frustration,

"What did you steal?" Steve asked, not looking very happy about what Tony did

"Borrow," Tony corrected, "its a small device but it's really powerful-"

"You can track anyone in the world with that" Dr. Strange interrupted, and Tony didn't look pleased

"- and it has a very powerful hydro-circuit which is was going to use as reference to recreate" Tony said, rolling his eyes, "I was going to give it back"

"It's also made of 2 layers of titanium and one of diamond-" Strange continued, and Tony rolled his eyes again

"- it's steel, actually-" Tony argued " and the diamond layer is in the center-"

"it can't be in the center, or else it wouldn't allow a signal to pass through-" Dr. Strange argued, while you and Steve watched on the sidelines. They got into a heated argument about the small device, saying lots of sciency words that you didn't understand

"oh my god," Steve said, watching the scene play out in front of him. you turned to look at him his face twisted with horror

"now there's two of them"
