Part 16: Fast Recovery

"Good news, you'll only miss a couple of games."
"So I'll be back after the other game against Red Star Belgrade?"
"Yep." The physio said
"I guess that's ok."
"It's great for you (Y/n)." He said
"Why's that?"
"Don't you have your English exam coming up? You need to retake the English GCSE right?"
"Yeah, I guess I've been so involved with my football that I've forgot."
"Now that you've got this free time off training and playing, you should study."
"Yeah."

Monday 28th October 2019
I had to use crutches for a week and it really was annoying to get to school, it took me ten minutes longer than usual to walk to school.
I had to use the lift (elevator) to get to the top floor since that's where the common room was.
"Mr (L/n), just in time, you were almost late." My IT teacher said
"Sorry sir, I haven't gotten used to my crutches yet."
"It's fine, just sit in your seat and we'll begin the lesson."

Throughout the day I was getting attention from the other students, probably because of how I got my injured foot rather than the injury itself.
People only 'care' about me now that I'm a somewhat famous footballer. It really annoys me.
At lunch time I got a call from my father, I answered instantly
"Hi dad, What do you need?"
"I just got a call from someone who wants to sponsor you. We can go and discuss the deal after you've finished school if you want."
"Wait, slow down, who is it with?" I asked
"Coca-Cola."
"No way, seriously?"
"Yes! So do you want it or not?!"
"Of course, I'll get straight home after school."

"Ok, who can tell me what happens to imports and exports if the cost of the pound(£) rises?" The finance teacher asked
"Imports will be cheap and exports will be expensive." I said
"Great work (Y/n)."
Finance was probably one of the most enjoyable lessons for me, it has a nice easy mixture of maths and common knowledge.
The bell then rung signalling the that I could go home, the class packet away their things and went out of the class
I made my way home and my father was waiting for me
"You ready?"
"Yeah."
"Then let's go."

We went to a Coca-cola headquarters in the city and we waited at the reception.
"The boss will see you now." The receptionist said
We went into the boss' office on the top floor and he greeted us
"Welcome Mr (L/n) and you too (Y/n) of course, I'm Gary White (Another made up name."
"We're happy to be here." My father said
"Great, now I know this was short notice but we'd love to have (Y/n) on board and we'd love to sponsor him."
"That's good news, can you explain this deal please." My father asked
"Of course, so this deal will look to have (Y/n) with us until the end of the season and if things go well we can extend that."
"Ok."
"We will have (Y/n) doing some promotion for the brand. So basically adverts and charity and promotional events."
"Mhm."
"And for this, (Y/n) will get £10,000 a month along with a welcome package of some Coca Cola goods."
My father looked at me and I nodded
"That's fine with us."
"Great, let's sign the paperwork then."

I then signed a contract and the deal was done, the only thing left to do was announce it on social media

"Now that we've finalised the paperwork, there's nothing left to do for now, next week we will be shooting an advert/commercial with you in it, we'll keep you updated about the date and time."
"Great, Thank you once again!"
"No problem."

We left the building and I got a text
-Congrats on the sponsor, the girls and I are proud of you

"So how long did the physio say you were out for anyway?" My dad asked
"For two matches, so not that long, I should be back in training after the team comes back from their match against Red Star."
"Great, you know your mother and I are proud of you."
"Thanks, it's actually harder than I expected to please everyone."
"Just go with what you think is right."
"Ok I will."

When I got home, I was greeted to my sister vigorously searching the house for something
"What's wrong?" I asked
"I can't find my Oyster Card (for the international readers, this is what the English use to get onto trains and buses)"
"Have you checked in the draws in your room?"
"Yeah, I just had it ten minutes ago and now I can't find it."
"Have you checked your back pocket?"
"Of course I checked my-" she then checked her back pocket and face palmed, she found it
"Told you, so why do you need it anyway?"
"I'm going to the JYP building."
"Wait, did you get in?"
"Yes!"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know, so anyway do you want to come with me?"
"To the JYP building? Sure."

Once we got to the JYP building, we went to the reception and the receptionist saw us
"Oh, hello again (Y/n) and welcome to JYP miss (L/n)."
"They know you here?" (S/n) asks
"Of course they do, I'm a regular." I reply
"The new trainees meeting is down the hallway to the right and (Y/n), the girls and Ji-ah are in the dance practice room."
"Thanks." I said
"The girls?" (S/n) asks
"Itzy, it looks like you should get to your meeting, see you later." I say

I go to the dance practice room located on the second floor and knocked on the door, and to my surprise it was opened instantly
"Well that's a first." I say
"The people at the reception phoned us to let us know you'd be coming." Ji-ah replied
"Oh I see, so what dances are the girls working on?"
"Just the Icy album dances, they might go to Korea for an event soon."
"They'll come back right?"
"Yeah, of course."
"So how long have the girls been practicing?"
"Three hours, they're going to finish after this one."

When they finished practicing, they sat down on the sofas and almost fell asleep.
"Are you not going to greet your guest?" Ji -ah asked them
"What? Who's here?" Yuna asked with her eyes closed
"It's (Y/n)."
While everyone else's eyes remained closed, Ryujin's shot open
"Hey (Y/n)." they said
"Hi (Y/n)." Ryujin said
"Hi guys, I saw you practice, you guys were amazing."
"Thanks." They smiled
"So (Y/n), we saw the announcement, congratulations on your sponsor." Ryujin said cheerfully
"Thanks, to be honest it surprised me a lot. Coca-cola wanted me of all people."
"It's very impressive, well done." Ji-ah added
My phone then began to ring
"One second, I need to take this call." I said
"That's ok." They replied

"Hello?"
"Hey (Y/n), it's David, can I speak to you?"
"David Who?"
"Beckham."
The David Beckham is asking me to talk to him!?
"Oh I see, what do you want to talk about."
"As you may or may not know, I'm starting a football club in the MLS in January, Inter Miami."
"Yeah I've heard."
"I want you to play for us, we've already been asking a few well known players to join, like David Silva from Man City."
"As much as it would be an honour, I don't think that it would be right for me to go. I just started my career at Tottenham and I still have so much to achieve with the squad."
"I understand, but if you change your mind, don't hesitate to give me a call."
"Ok, bye."

A/n: Another chapter, I've had so much free time to write that I feel like some of the chapters are rushed, but nonetheless I hope you like them.
