Chapter 26: Fighter PT2

Alfred landed the helicopter on the roof of the tower. Raven could feel the motions beneath her, although she could not move. She heard the boys talk amongst themselves as they each stepped out of the helicopter. She felt herself be laid on a back board and wheeled away. She heard the slamming of the med bay doors and the beeping of what she assumed to be Starfire's monitors. Foot steps followed close behind. One went in the direction of the computers and monitors, one went in towards starfire's bay and was cut off by the sound of the electronic door and two stayed by her side.
"She's in her healing trance, I don't know what she can hear, feel, or if she is even able to understand that but I know she's alive. Her heart is faint and her breathing is shallow but she's hanging in there." BeastBoys voice broke the repeating sounds of monitors. "Ravens one of the toughest people I know BB, she's not going down without a fight." BumbleBee replied. "What ever she went through, what ever Star went through, it strained them and drained them. They were pushed to their limits and even though they pushed back it still showed how bad the situation was." Her voice sounded worried and concerned. "I'll get her hooked up, you just rest and take a seat." A door swooshed open and the wheeling motions stopped. Soon she felt a pair of strong yet delicate hands place monitors on her, she felt the pinch of an IV and winced in her mind.
"There we go now, fluids are being administered, vitals are okay, they aren't where we would like them but they are stable." Bee said. She always had a southern hospitality that none other could challenge, she never told anyone this but we she looked at Cyborg and Bee she could sense their life line together. Two old souls who had loved each other in past lives reunited once again. "Love will always find a way" She thought to herself.  The doors opened and then closed again, more footsteps approached her. "Hey Rae, I don't know if you can hear me right now but you will be okay. You have to be, because if you aren't I won't know what to do anymore." BeastBoys voice began to falter. He pressed his head into her shoulder and nuzzled up against her before shifting into a puppy and falling asleep next to her body. In this room everything was at peace, but beyond the walls into the next room over, mayhem was just about to break loose.
Starfire's heart monitor began to race. Bee stumbled to find sedatives in time. Cyborg raced in to assist her while Robin stayed at Starfire's side gently talking to her trying to calm her down. She was in the same state Raven was, trying to heal herself and regain her strength, but for her it was a much different process. She was having flashbacks of the hell she entered, she was seeing herself fight her friends as if she was outside of her body, she saw the horrible things within the hotel, the things in the shadows, the entities that stayed hidden. She felt the sorrow  all over again, and she felt the pain of her biggest fear stabbing her in the heart and ripping through her body. She began to flail her arms and legs, not realizing that what she was fighting was not truly there. 
"Man this girl can throw a punch." Bee said clenching her side. "You shouldn't stand so close." Cyborg smirked. "It's not like she's a titan or anything."
"Okay sparky, you sedate her." Bee smirked and handed over the needle and syringe. Cyborgs smirked turned to a half embarrassed smile. "Rob a little help?"
Robin was at Starfire's head slowly getting her to stop her thrashing, reassuring her that he's there for her, not knowing that the fears running through her head had to do with him leaving her.
"Shhhh Star, I'm here. I'll always be here." Robin gently cooed in her ear. Starfire's panic state began to cease as her heart rate began to return to normal. Bee walked to the end of her bed slowly, she placed her hands over Starfire's ankles , she then looked up at Robin waiting for the signal. Robin and Cyborg made eye contact, Robin stood up slowly and leaned over star getting ready to hold down her wrist. He turned around to Cy & Bee, "on my mark." He said quietly. "Now!" He whispered intensely. Bee and Robin held her down while Cyborg administered the sedative, Cyborg had barely gotten all of the medicine into her arm when Robin and Bee went flying across the room as Star began to thrash again. This time it wasn't as strong though, she was getting slower and within a matter of seconds she was out. "This should help her relax for awhile, without it it would have a been a series of terrors for her until she woke up." Robin walked back up to his loved ones side, he slowly slid his hand into hers and held it tightly. He stroked her hair and smiled weakly as his princess. Even in a wrecked state, she was still the most beautiful star in the sky.
Cyborg and Bee looked at each other and turned around in synchrony, they both walked out. As the door shut behind them another one opened to the side of them. "Good evening, young friends of Master Richard." Alfred said as he waltzed in with a silver plate. "I brought you some Tea for the night ahead. I trust you will be needing it."
"Thank you Alfred, what a lovely gesture." Bumble Bee said as she looked at the clock. "3:36 am, whew what a day."
Cyborg breathed in and sighed heavily. "Yea I'm beat." He replied reaching for a cup of tea. "Thank you again Alfred."
Alfred smiled. "No problem, now go get some rest, I will take care of the team."
"We couldn't possibly leave you to do that." Cyborg said. "I can handle it."
"Non sense" Alfred stated. " you and Miss Bee need to rest, if anything happens I will call you down. Now shoo." He said as he practically pushed them out the door. The door swished shut. Cyborg and Bee just looked at each other in awe.
"Oh and don't forget your tea." Alfred said as he slid the tea out of the door. Bee picked up the tray and began walking to the kitchen with it, Cyborg followed. The halls were empty and almost quiet, the only sound were the foot steps echoing through the walls but even then it still sounded empty. Once they came to the common room, the doors slid open revealing the starry view of the night sky in front of the tower. Cyborg sat on the couch and turned on the Tv. "What are you in the mood to watch Bee?" He asked as he turned to the kitchen where Bee was placing the tea tray on the counter. "Comedy. We could use a laugh after the day we just had." She said as she walked over and joined him on the couch. "One daily dose of laughter coming up." Cy said as he smiled. He turned on Kevin Hart's laugh at my pain and they sat back ready to enjoy the show. Although, Less than 30 minutes into the film Bumble Bee had curled up in Cyborgs arms and Cyborg had his arm securely wrapped around her as they both drifted into dreamland.
