Chapter 16: Plan

A day after the British GP, Seb came to a petrol station in Towcester to film The Grand Tour with the hosts before he flew to Italy afterwards, while Bernadette went back home alone. At first, she wanted to join him to Maranello, but he refused it. He said that she didn't have to join as he would be busy preparing the next GP which was his home race.

But, he promised her that he would bring her there to meet his family and watch the race. And she agreed, which made him relieved. He had been in Maranello for simulator training and some briefings until Thursday afternoon. After that, he was free to go back to Switzerland.

In the evening, he finally arrived in Ellighausen. Bernadette happily welcomed him. She even helped him to bring his suitcase inside. In the dining room, they had their dinner. Seb started a conversation with his girlfriend. "Bernadette, I want to tell you something."

"Sure, just tell me, Seb."

He drank his water first before he continued to speak. "Actually, I have a plan to go to Austria first. We can go there tomorrow. After that, we go to Germany."

"Oh, that's nice! Will you drive or we go there by plane?" she asked.

"I will drive. Is it okay?"

She smiled at him. "I leave it to you, Seb. Where will we go to?"

"We go to Vienna first, then our next destination is Graz. After that, we go to Heppenheim, probably on Monday."

"I can't wait to be back to Graz!" Bernadette loved Seb's second house there. Then, she remembered that he had gone to Vienna not so long ago. "Erm, if I'm not mistaken, you went to Vienna after the race in France. Are you sure that you want to go there again?"

"Yes, I'm sure of that. I think that Vienna is a beautiful city. I'd love to explore it again." In fact, Seb really wanted to come to Gia's bookstore again if he could. He also wanted to drive around the city. "Do you agree if we go there first?"

"I agree. By the way, as you know that I've opened my stores in Germany, Switzerland, and Netherlands. I'm also considering to open a new store in Austria. But I'm still thinking if I should open it in Vienna or Salzburg. Both of them are nice cities."

Deep inside his heart, Seb was hoping that Bernadette wouldn't open her clothing store in Vienna. He didn't want her to know that he always wanted to come there if he had time, to meet Gia. "That's nice. Maybe next time I should bring you to Salzburg as well, then you can start thinking where you want to open your store at."

"Ah, that's a great idea! Thank you, love!"

"With pleasure, Bernadette."

Seb was thinking when he could come to Gia's bookstore. He finally decided that he could go there on Saturday. He would let Bernadette go wherever she wanted to, then he could go alone to the bookstore. He thought that it would be a good idea.

Gia took some of her clothes from the closet. She was taking the clothes that she wanted to bring to Heppenheim. She folded her clothes neatly before putting them in her suitcase. Adelina and herself would fly to Frankfurt on Sunday afternoon. While, Gilbert told her that he would drive there with Sophia and Leonard on Monday. They all would stay at a hotel as they had sold their house there.

They would commemorate three years of their husband and father's passing on the following Tuesday. They planned to visit his grave in the morning. She sat down on her bed for a moment. Then, she took a photo frame that was put on the nightstand. That was a photo of their family. She looked at the face of Ludwig.

"Dad, I miss you so much," she said it as if she was talking to her father. "I hope that you are still here with me. I want to tell you so many things. I also have so many questions to ask," she continued with stroking the photo. "I finally meet Seb. I finally meet him after 12 years. He finally knows where I live in. And maybe someday we will meet again, I don't know." She sighed heavily. "What should I do, dad? Should I talk to him? Or maybe I should start forgetting him? I need your help, dad."
