The upgrades that Ferrari brought and also his one step closer relationship with Gia had boosted Seb's motivation on the second half of the season. Since the Singapore GP, he felt a bit more comfortable with his car.

He showed his strong performance at the Russian GP. Starting from third place, he was aided by the slipstream on the straight, overtaking Lewis and pole sitter, Charles. He at least led for almost half of the race before he pitted to change his tyres.

But unfortunately, he reported the failure on the MGU-K on his outlap after he emerged from the pit at the end of Lap 26. He parked his car off the track as his team were concerned that going any further would cause more damage to the car.

While at the Japanese GP, he took pole position on the qualifying session that had to be postponed until Sunday morning as Typhoon Hagibis hit the country on Saturday.

Some hours after, the race started. He had a poor start as his car moved a fraction of a second too early. He was able to stop before overstepping his grid line, but in the end, he was passed by the Mercedes of Valtteri.

Until the end of the race, he could retain his second place although Lewis threatened him with a small gap behind. The team members still congratulated him with his solid result although he felt guilty with his false start. Seb, alongside Charles and Max, were officially eliminated from the title contention.

There were 4 races left, with 3 races on the American continent and the final race in Abu Dhabi. Before he prepared for the double-header races in Mexico and USA, he would be in Vienna to continue the preparation for his wedding with Gia.

Mariska was on her last days working at the bookstore before she took maternity leave. Although Gia had permitted her to work from home, but she felt that she was still able to work from the store.

That day, Gia had told Mariska that Seb would come to pick her up. They would visit their wedding location as there was something that they had to settle. They would also come to a flower shop to discuss with the wedding florist there.

They were on the first floor as they were checking the warehouse of the bookstore. They discussed about the inventory of books that would be sold. As they had finished, they left. Mariska looked at her watch before she asked, "When will Seb come?"

Gia also looked at her own watch. "Not long to go, I guess. We can wait in the office."

Gia took Mariska's hand as she helped her walk up the stairs. When they entered their office room, she made sure that her best friend sat down comfortably on the couch.

"I'm gonna miss you when you start on leave," Gia said after she sat next to Mariska.

She sighed. "Me too, Gia. But you can surely come to my home whenever you want."

Then, Gia put her hand on Mariska's stomach and started stroking it softly. "Hey, baby girl! Aunty Gia can't wait to meet you. You're gonna be a beautiful angel just like your Mama."

Mariska started crying after she heard what Gia said to her baby inside her tummy. "This hormone really sucks! You always make me cry, Gia," she said but then chuckled right after.

"I hope that those are happy tears, beautiful mumma."

Mariska took Gia's hand that was still on her baby bump and held it tightly. "Of course these are happy tears, Gia. I'm so sure that you will be a caring aunt for my little angel. Ah, imagine if my baby plays with yours. It would be the most wonderful sight!"

Gia smiled shyly as she started imagining the same thing. Seb and herself having a baby was always a dream that hopefully could come true. "I hope that I could have a child just like you, Mariska."
