Michael drove all the way to Otho, Greece in silence. Jeanette couldn't make conversation and Marcy wasn't the type to talk in a car. Maddie felt the brunt of her father's disapproval loud and clear and it was deafening.

Soon they made it to Tomas' parents' home. They got out and went to knock on the seaside dwelling's door.

Gideon Allenthopelis answered the door. "Hullo!"

"Gideon!" Michael nodded once.

"Please come in." The dark haired man waved them in. "Jeanette. Marcy. Maddie."

"Hello, Gideon." Jeanette and Marcy spoke.

"Hello, Mr. Allenthopelis." Maddie chewed on her bottom lip.

"What's the matter, dear?" He asked, peering at her in concern.

She smiled wanly. "Can I use your bathroom?"

"Of course. You know where it is."

Maddie dragged Marcy behind her to the restroom.

"We need to talk, Gideon." Michael told him.

Gideon led the way to a patio and offered them seats at the table as his wife came out. "Hunny, the Changs are here."

"Hullo!" Piper Allenthopelis smiled brightly.

"Where's Tomas?"

"Preparing to come down."

A young girl ran out. "Hullo!"

"Hello, Ingrid." Michael and Jeanette greeted her.

"Is Maddie here with you?" Ingrid Allenthopelis asked hopefully.

"She's is the restroom, dear." Gideon told his youngest.

"Who's in the restroom?" Mary Louise Allenthopelis de Loren walked out with her husband, Paolo.

"The Changs are here, m'dear."

Mary Louise smiled. "Hullo, Dr. and Mrs. Chang."

"Hello, Mary Louise." Both Chang parents spoke. "Paolo."

"Maddie is in the bathroom. With Marcy." Gideon shrugged.

"Quite strange." Mary Louise raised her dark brows.

"Sit. Mother has cooked up a feast for luncheon."

Tomas appeared, white as a ghost and pasty as a clam.

"Son!" Gideon waved his boy over to him. "Your young lady is here."

Tomas sat at the long table. "Dr. and Mrs. Chang."

"Tomas." They nodded to him.

Marcy and Maddie came out. "Hello, all."

Everyone greeted them as Tomas stared at Maddie.

Gideon elbowed his son-in-law. "Eh, eh! He's still smitten!"

Marcy could tell by his face that Maddie's package had beat them there and he was most definitely not smitten. "How about we sit? This all smells lovely, Mrs. A."

"Mommy missed my play!" Mally complained.

"I know, son." Mal walked the floor with Tristan. "Mommy is helping Tía Maddie right now. She's in a bit of trouble."

Mally's jaw dropped. "Is she okay?"

"She will be. Mommy will make sure of it."

Mally smiled. "My teacher taped the play. Can I show Mama?"
