"You good?" Hoseok whispered softly into your ear, his voice low and barely above a whisper as he took a seat in the chair next to you.

You gave him a small nod even though everything inside you felt frayed and allowed Hoseok to grab a hold of your hand under the table.

The restaurant you were in was warmly lit, the gentle buzz of clinking glasses and diners chatting over their meals filling the air.

At your table, the laughter from your parents and Seokjin's seemed to echo a bit louder than necessary, your mind automatically drawing itself lines between the differences between the past and now.

This dinner with your families was nothing like the ones before, and little did they know...

"So Seokjin..." you heard your father start, and you furrowed your eyebrows in curiosity and glanced over to the older male, "What will you be doing for your break? You still have another year of school to go, right?"

You glanced over at Seokjin, sitting a few seats down from you on your left, right next to Nari.

"We're going to have a little barbeque at the house next week." Seokjin answered with a lazy smile on his face, briefly glancing at his parents who nodded.

"Why only next week?" your mother chipped in, her tone light and curious as she turned her to Jin's parents who also sat across the table.

"Chungha is only returning home next week," Seokjin's mother answered with a soft smile on her face at the thought of her daughter, "We want the whole family to be there for the party."

"How is Chungha by the way?" your mother asked Seokjin's mother when she heard the all too familiar name getting mentioned.
