"Girl bye." I jokily rolled my eyes pulling out my receipt book recording her price grabbing the $115 dollars she placed in front of me, thanking me as she stood up heading out the salon. "Ooouuu."
Puckering my lips sitting back in my chair as I counted all the money I made for the day, I felt eyes on my looking up sucking my teeth as some other nail technicians stood together in a huddle watching me from a distance straight hating.
But it's expected, I came into their salon snatching all their regulars... I'd feel some type of way too.
A weight was lifted off my shoulder when I hit up an old friend from high school, Jessica, and she assured me I had a seat in her popular nail shop.
I've known Jessica since I was in high school and she's part of the reason I discovered my passion for doing nails, after watching the amount of money she was making compared to the $7/ hour I was making at dirty ass McDonald's.
