Before we get into chapter 16, I wanna put out the information that I will not be including Civil War in this story. Simply because I can't fit it into my plot and it'll be too long for what I have in store for this book :). So CW never happens and it will just skip to probably infinity war (wooooo! it's gonna be fun!). It will be different from the movie plot since CW never happens, but I'll work hard to make it work. :)

Notes:
• this chapter also takes place in a different country so if I got something wrong (cultural wise), please forgive me as I've never been there.
• i added a new snippet to chapter 06 in the beginning after Diane and Bucky reunite because I forgot to add how Diane took the picture of Steve and Bucky's return (the one mentioned in chapter 02 when she was in the museum). Sorry about that!

Thank you!

"Have you seen this man?"

I held up a picture of him to a man in one of the fruit stands. Unfortunately, he shook his head and spoke in a different language afterward. I thanked him as I walked away, without knowing what he had said. It might be easier if I could understand Romanian.

It's been weeks since I've been in Bucharest and I still haven't found him or at least found any new leads. I've been staying at a tiny hotel every night, but most of the time, I was out searching for him. My desperation is coming out and at this point, anything will do.

I roam around the city more as I ask a few more locals and show them the same picture I've used since day one. As expected, nothing. Resting my aching legs with all of the pain built up, I made my way to a small coffee shop, plopping my bottom on the soft-cushioned wooden chair. I order a cup of coffee that was brought to my table that was next to the big front entrance window, allowing me to have the view of the busy street beside me.

I let out a heavy sigh as I take a sip of my drink. "Where in the world could you be?" I mumble afterward. As for the only information I have on him, he's probably around here somewhere for sure. He can't be anywhere else, otherwise, Nat or Steve would've sent me a message. I just have to look harder. I stare at the view outside the window, noticing all of these people walking past, miraculously thinking he could be in the crowd.

When I finish my drink and go up to the counter to pay, the young cashier employee flashes me a bright smile, "Oh, you could've just asked for the check miss." She says in English with her strong accent. She must've noticed I wasn't from here.

I raise my brows, confused for a second, but realizing afterwards my mistake. "Right, sorry." I laugh it off as I thank her afterward. I thought it was because of my old mind, but it was just me forgetting how to ask for the check.

"It's alright, miss." She continues, "Do you have a credit card or will you be paying in cash?"

My eyes blinked in cluelessness as I paused, "A credit what?"

"Credit card." She repeats. "...Or cash."

I pause a little longer, taking a few moments to process what she said. Though I tried my best to understand what a credit card was, I eventually gave up, reaching in my pockets for some money. "I'll go with cash." I show an embarrassed smile while handing her the amount of Romanian leu I had to pay.

As she takes the money and uses the register she gave me a recommendation, "You know, if you'd like, I could show you a translation app on your phone that could help you when you need it."

My eyes widened in shock and amazement, "Cell phones can do that?"

She unexpectedly laughs, thinking I was joking. "Yes, they can." She holds put her palm as I pull out my cell phone from my back pocket and hand it to her, excitingly. I was curious to see how people would manage using the device with ease, unlike me who still has trouble using it.
