Chapter 19

BENNY'S POV:

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"A-and why are you in the n-nail polish section?" Jackson asks.

My dad rolls his eyes. "Speak like a normal person. And I'm buying some nail polish for my girlfriend."

How the hell did he get a girlfriend in a day?

"What do you mean girlfriend?"

He laughs. "I've been cheating on your mom for a while now."

I thought this man couldn't get any worse...he proved me wrong.

"You're disgusting."

"You're going to hell." He says. "You're already gay, don't make it any worse by dressing gay!"

Jackson grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"Li-listen. You're acting stup-stupid. You ca-can't dress gay." Jackson says.

My dad rolls his eyes. "Sh-sh-shut the hell up you-"

"Can we just go." I whisper.

Jackson smiles and starts walking away with my hand in his but my dad grabs my wrist.

"I can fix you! You don't have to be disgusting anymore."

I roll my eyes. "Call me when you find your brain." I snatch my wrist away and start walking away.

"Go die! I never loved you anyways! You're disgusting!" He yells.

I roll my eyes.

"H-hey are you ok?" Jackson asks.

I smile and nod.

I'm not okay.

I should've expected this. Instead I was being stupid. I'm not going to cry though. I'll just forget that my dad said I'm going to hell and that he wants to "fix" me.

I can't forget.

How can I forget those stupid words. He wants me to die. He never loved me. He thinks I'm disgusting. He could've just been saying that at the heat of the moment, but knowing my dad he probably didn't. He meant every word he said. My dad always tells the truth. Even if it hurts.

I felt tears come to my eyes and I quickly blink them away.

Jackson sighs. "You're no-not ok."

"I'm fine." I say with my voice cracking.

"Benny-"

"I'm fine."

"After you do m-my nails you'll be fi-fine." He says.

I smile and squeeze his hand.

"I love you Jackie."

"Love you to-too Bunny."

I paint his nails a bright pink and laugh at is disgusted expression.

"There!" I say while putting down the nail polish. "Now you look even prettier!"

Jackson rolls his eyes with a smile on his face.

"M-my turn!" He yells while picking up the yellow nail polish.

He starts painting my nails and I laugh every time he messes up.

"Do you wa-wanna talk about it?" Jackson asks.

"What are you talking about?"

Jackson sighs. "Your dad."

"Um...not really." I whisper.

"You ca-can talk to me abo-about it."

"I know...I just-"

"Benny if you don't wa-want to talk about it that's fi-fine. I just want you to know that if you need som-someone to talk to I'm here."

I smile. "I know."

He kisses me before going back to painting my nails.

I walk inside my house after my day with Jackson. I see my mom making dinner and walk over to her.

"Um...mom?"

She doesn't say anything.

"I'm sorry."

She sighs. "I think you should leave."

"What do you mean."

She stops cooking and glares at me.

"I said, I think you should leave."

"But...why?"

She rolls her eyes.

"Why? Maybe because you ruined my realationship with your father because you thought it was a good idea to be gay!" She yelled.

"What the hell do you mean good idea? I can't choose whether I'm gay or not!"

She sighs and goes back to cooking.

"You're going to see a therapist for this problem of yours." She says.

Wow. I don't even know what to say to her stupidity.

"I'm not going." I say.

"Yes you are."

"I'm not living here anymore."

"Then get out!" She yells.

I sigh. "I'm getting my stuff and moving in with my boyfriend."

She freezes. "You have a boyfriend?"

"Yes, and I'm moving in with him. So your homophobic ass can live all alone."

I see tears form in her eyes. "I can't live alone."

I sigh. "You should've thought about that before yelling at me to get out." I say while walking up the stairs.

"I'm sorry mom."

I enter my room and close the door behind me. I fall to the floor and cry.

Shit.
