*Izuku's POV*
I woke up the next morning and was confused as to why my dad was hunched over my desk, sleeping, until I remembered what had happened. I'd had a nightmare so bad that I had woken my entire floor up with my screams. My face warmed up from embarrassment. I remember Kacchan's arms around my body and Todoroki looking down at me from my bedside. It was mortifying that people had seen me in such a vulnerable state. "Problem Child, please stop muttering." Dad's gruff voice yawned from my desk. I sat up a bit straighter and began to apologise profusely, only for Shota to roll his eyes and pat more on the head reassuringly before leaving the room to get ready for the day. I looked at my All Might alarm clock and saw it was 7:00 am. I wanted to roll over and go back to sleep but I knew that if I went back to sleep I'd never wake up on time. I rolled out of bed and stumbled into my ensuite bathroom to shower and freshen myself up for the day.
I arrived in the kitchen at quarter to 8 to make myself a simple breakfast of jam on toast. It didn't seem as if anyone else was ready yet so I read a book as I munched on my toast in silence. Usually, the silence made me feel trapped. It felt like a physical thing which pressed down on me, but that morning, I found solace in it. People began to join me for breakfast at around 8 o'clock. Ochako greeted me with her usual bubbly attitude, I greeted her back with the same amount of energy, although the simple action made me feel immensely tired. I watched as people leaked from the stairwell into the commons area. The people from my floor looked as tired as I felt. This obviously made me feel extremely guilty because I was the reason for their lack of sleep. I doubt any of them could get back to sleep after hearing my pain-filled screams. I decided I should apologise to all of them. Luckily, they were all sat together at one of the dining tables which meant that I didn't have to walk around trying to find them all. "Hey, guys. I just wanted to say sorry for last night." I began weakly. In all honesty, I wasn't sure how to articulate what I wanted to say. I didn't have to however because Kacchan butted in, "Don't worry about it you damn nerd. Everyone had nightmares. Just remember we'll be there if you ever need us." Kacchan said angrily. He needed to work on his tone of voice. His words were heartfelt but his tone was the opposite. Hums of agreement went around the table as all my hallmates nodded their heads and confirmed that they would help me whenever I needed them. The sentiment made tears well up in my eyes. "Thanks guys!" I choked through my tears. Kacchan rolled his eyes and pulled me into a hug, patting my head in the way he knew soothed me.
The school day was starting. When Dad walked into the classroom that morning, he had his bandages off, which was great because seeing him wrapped in bandages had been making me feel immensely guilty. Dad had just taken the morning attendance before he moved onto homeroom business. "As you were well aware, the sports festival was the perfect time to show off to the pro heroes. The next step in your hero career is to complete an internship. Some of you have received offers due to your performances in the sports festival.", Dad clicked a button to display how many offers each of us received.
Todoroki received the most offers, then me then Kacchan. Todoroki received over 4000 offers, I received 3867 offers and Kacchan received 3489 offers. The number of offers seemed a bit backwards seeing as Kacchan came first in the sports festival, I just attributed it to the fact that quite a few pros weren't enamoured with Kacchan's attitude. I skimmed down the rest of the list and saw that my friends had considerably fewer offers than me. Kyoka and Ochako both had 90, Yaomomo had 120 and Iida had 300. The spread out of offers didn't seem very fair. "As you can see, there isn't really a spread this year. and not all of you received offers but that doesn't mean that you won't be doing the internship. Except for you, Shinso, you don't have enough training to do an internship. Vlad King and Nezu will be catching you up in an off-campus facility. For the rest of you who didn't receive offers, the school will give you a list of agencies to choose from. The lists will be passed around in a minute." Dad explained. "However, to go into the heroics field you must possess an alias, otherwise know as a hero name. I'm no good at things like this so we'll be receiving help from-" Dad was cut off by the classroom door sliding open to reveal Auntie Nemuri. "Midnight." Dad finished with a sigh. Midnight sashayed into the classroom and stood at the front. "I'm going to sleep, you can explain." Dad grunted as he sunk into his yellow sleeping bag and laid against the wall.
