Leah's P.O.V

Sunlight. That was what was peeking through the thin, white colored curtains of this lonesome bedroom; that was my alarm this morning. The warning that every human being has gone off to do their normal routine awaiting for the weekend, to get out with a couple of friends and possibly chug some drinks down to forget about their responsibilities that will await for them on Monday. The thought of it just made me feel blue. Living in New York was the same exact thing for everyone, except me of course. College was the only routine I had to follow. Work didn't feel like work because my job was to go out and experience what I could just so I could sit alone at two in the morning scribbling angrily on a white piece of paper just so that I can later turn it into a newspaper and hopefully get my work published which later resulted in a check of five hundred to a thousand dollars. It all depended on the newspaper editor. My life wasn't a normal routine because I chose not to view it as a routine.

The door creaked open as my flawless cousin barged in jumping on the bed like a small child on Christmas, causing the black colored pillows to slip on the floor. "Morning Leah!" She smiled as her wavy hair bounced back to place. Her personality had always been this way, bubbly and carefree, which is why a lot of people enjoyed her company. There were times that job or back then school work would irritate her causing her to burst out and give up for a while, but later coming back to complete what was started. Which are one of the many things I admired about her.
"Morning!" I replied, as stood up to go to the bathroom and wash my teeth

"Don't be a buzz, come back and let's have a talk!" She whines as she lays on the comfortable duvet seems to swallow her thin, fragile body.

"I will, stop complaining, you don't want me to speak to you with bad breath! It's not very attractive!" She laughs as I continue to wash my teeth with the minty toothpaste. As I place everything back I settled down next to her as she grabbed one of the pillows that had slipped on the floor earlier and placed it on her feet lifting her legs up in the air and swinging the pillow around in circles. A habit she's had ever since I could remember. I love these habits, the habits people cant seem to get rid of reminding one that although the person's personality has changed or they have physically changed. Small habits never fade. They will always bring back memories of who you once use to spend time with.
"Liam spoke to me yesterday." She stated bluntly.

"Yeah?" I wasn't sure if Liam told her everything that occurred yesterday. So I let her continue.

"Yeah, said you spoke to him about Al, but he wouldn't give me full detail about the conversation because he didn't think it his place to do so." She smiled as she looked over at me slightly closing her eyes due to the sunlight beaming through the curtains.

"Oh, that's nice of him. Did he speak to you about anything else?" I question still slightly irritated with his girlfriend.

"No, why? Did something else happen that I should be aware of?" She asks as she furrows her eyebrows together.

I figured I should just let her know what occurred yesterday when I got here because she would find out one way or another. "Well when we were at that restaurant I couldn't handle the topic very well so I ram in to myself to the restroom like a lunatic and when I came back he was gone, later that night I arrived at your apartment and he was with his girlfriend, which I encountered at the restaurant. Liam came into the room to apologize for leaving me alone at the restaurant and said that his girlfriend was upset about him and I being alone. So I walked out and talked to her about the whole misunderstanding." I explained.

"You spoke to Spencer?" She asked.

"Yeah? That's her name?"

"Yeah, you didn't need to explain yourself to her, she's rude and treats others like total shit, especially Liam." She spoke with a bit of annoyance.

"Well she was rude, but I was being polite, whether she cared or not I did it for myself and Liam's sake." I defended myself.

"Liam left you alone?" She asked, ignoring my last comment on the whole situation.

"Yeah?" I responded a bit intimidated by the look she was giving me.

"God, why would he do that! I need to speak to him."

"No you do not, it wasn't his fault. I found my way back anyways and I got to experience a small part of this big city which is something I should thank him and both Niall and Ali." My phone vibrated on the white wooden nightstand catching my attention and interrupting what Carter was about to say.

"Hey,it's Mathew from last night. I was just wondering what you were up to today?"

"Who is it?" Carter asks.

I debate on whether letting her know who it really is and before I decide against it, I let her known. "This guy I met yesterday at the restaurant, his name is Matthew." I smile at her.

"Gosh, how?" She ask fully interested on who Matthew really is.

"After Liam left the waitress came back to give me my check and they were sitting on the both behind ours so they invited me to sit next to them; them being him and his friends who I met. Very nice and easy going." I explain.

"Well what does he want?" She asks concerned.

"He wants to know what I'm up to tonight. Probably wants to go out for a while. Are we doing anything today?"

"Are you kidding? Of course we are! Look at the weather! The sun is out and it's beautiful! Something we don't get here very often." She exclaimed. I simply laughed at her.

"Should I tell Mathew that I won't be able to hang out with him then?"

"That's exactly what you should tell him." She replied in a very sassy manner as she made her way over to the door. "Get ready because we're leaving soon and won't be coming back until tonight."

After speaking to Matthew on the phone and apologizing for not being able to spend some time with him today, Carter was still rushing around her apartment in search of the perfect shirt that would go with her pants. I looked completly causal with just a white plain shirt, black jeans and ankle boots with a thick necklace I was forced to wear by Carter. My curly hair was actually cooperating, and after arguing with Carter over how hard it was to manage curly hair she dropped the subject and continued to do her make up.

We walked our way to the small restaurant that she claims to have been planing on taking me there since the moment she arrived here. It wasn't small at all, it was hectic and waiters were quickly pacing around to serve people. I looked over at her as she told the waiter she had a table already reserved. We were lead towards the back of the restaurant where a long table was already occupied by familiar faces. "Carter and Lea!" Kai exclaimed as Niall raised both his arms and turned to look at us, smiling and showing off his pearl white teeth. The others copied his actions. I couldn't help but laugh at them. They seemed to always be so cheerful and happy when they were together. I've never had people like them surround me, they were intriguing and yet very welcoming. I couldn't help but take in the sense of happiness I felt, a genuine happy, something I haven't felt in a while; actually I can't even recall the last time I was ever genuinely happy. Our food was placed in front of us as we all started to intake the endless amount of calories this place had to offer. We were suddenly interrupted by a black purse that was loudly placed in front of Carter and I.
