Leah's P.O.V

I know he was just trying to do what he believed was the right thing but it seemed to make things worse. I hate to think that I was the cause of all this and guilt soon comes to life as I finish making Liam's grilled cheese sandwich. I was use to people doubting what I'm capable of doing. Harry wasn't the first one to doubt me, my father always did. Never did he support me when I told him I was going off to New York to experience new things and focus on myself.

"What's in New York?" He would question me. "You can focus on yourself here." I remember the last phone call I made to speak to him was the worst one I had ever had with anyone. "You're a stupid little naive girl, just like your mother." The words kept repeating into my head. The bitterness in his tone almost made me unpack my things and return home. I came to my senses realizing that, that was exactly what he wanted me to do. To run back into his home and view it as my only sanctuary. A home that never had happiness. The only happiness it contained was my father's because he was able to purchase a luxurious life for himself. A life in which he fulfilled with cocaine and gold digging women to fill the void that has existed ever since my mother left us.

I don't blame her for leaving. The man she once knew is now nothing. The only thing that surrounds him is money and a broken heart he's been trying to mend with drugs and strange statue's that he never seems to throw away.

"Don't over think love." His voice soon brought me back to reality. It was softer than it was a few minutes ago.

"Liam I really didn't wan't you to feel the need to defend me and get into this argument with Carter."

"Next time please let me just defend myself if I feel the need to." I further explain myself.

"What did you do after dinner?" He changes the subject without even acknowledging what I had just said.

I don't know if he's mad or just trying to ignore what the topic, so I say "We just came back and watched a scary movie together."

His eyes instantly shoot up to mine. "So are you guys like close now or something?" His face instantly goes back to serious and I'm not understanding where he's going with this or what he's assuming.

"So, how's Spencer? I can tell she's not very fond of me." I ask trying to avoid his question as he did with mine.

"She fine. Who cares if she likes you or not. It's not like you guys are going to become friends or anything like that." He says in a harsh tone. Although he's right I don't know why it hurts to hear those words from him.

"I have work in the morning so I'm going to head back. Thanks Leah." He retrieves his phone from his denim jean pocket and closes the door behind him behind him.
