At It Again

Melanie's POV

"Melanie you have nothing to eat," Harmony says roamingbthe fridge.

"I know I just really dont want to go to the grocery store, "

"Mom lets go get chinese, " India suggests.

"Oh I want sushi!," Noah sits up.

"Alright then I'll just cook, im tired of takeout," I get up.

"Lemme help you," Mom gets up.

"What do you want me to do?," August asks walking in the room. I look at him and see his puffy eyes.

"Oh sweetie we just need some soy sauce, a pound of rice, and some drinks," August grabs his keys. "Samuel go with him," Dad groans and gets up.

"Thank you," I say getting the chicken out of the freezer.

August POV

"August," Melanie's dad stops me in my tracks.

"Yes?,"

"Whats going on with you and my daughter she is not the same right now?,"

"Your daughter and I are... not on good terms," I fumble for the keys.

"What happened? ,"

"I just took my anger out on her,"

"You put your hands on Melanie?," Nick asks me. I turn my head and look him up and down.

"No I didnt," I turn back to Sam. "We just got into an argument, " Nick laughs. "Whats so funny?,"

"Nothing its just when Melanie and I get into arguments-,"

"Look here dont you ever talk about my wife and you being together thats shit is over. Do not think about your times together either good or bad. I dont want to hear it alright,"

"August-,"

"What I say?,"

"Come on," Sam pats my back and I walk to the car.

Melanie POV

"Melanie what did he do?," Harmony asks me.

"It doesnt matter," I start the fire.

"Yes it does,"

"We just got into an argument, "

"Like what argument? ,"

"Over something petty," Harmony curls her lips.

"Look when your father and I used to argue we woukd sit down. Grab a bottle of wine and our wedding video. We would shut up and drink remebering why we fell in love," my mom smiles. "And after watching we always forget what we were arguing about," Harmony and I smile.

"This different," she shrugs.

"But Im just old huh," She starts cutting the lettuce.

"Heres the rice," dad walks in with the groceries.

"Okay," I continue making the chow mein.

"Did you need anything else?," August asks me.

"No I think we are good," he nods. "Sam can you go help get-,"

"Baby theres nothing in the car," Dad says.

"Yes there is Nick go help," Harmony says trying to leave the room.

"B-,"

"Just go," They all walk out and its just August and I.

"Need help?,"

"You can start with the chow mein I guess," I start rolling the sushi.

"Melanie how long?,"

"What are you talking about?,"

"How long are you going to treat me like this?,"

"Dont st-,"

"Well Im starting," I sigh and stop.

"Then continue,"

"I told you Im sorry and I begged for your forgiveness for God's sake I got on my knees and begged-,"

"So you think-,"

"Im talking!," He raises his voice catching me off guard. "I dont know what else to do. Im lost and confused on what I should do," I just listen.

"Oh I can speak now?,"

"Melanie please stop acting childish,"

"Childish?  So me being mad and angry that you put your hands on me is me just being childish,"

"Im not saying that! You are twisting my words! You always do that and make me feel like the fucking suspect!," He slams his hand on the counter.

"YOU ARE THE SUSPECT!," he laughs to myself. "Whats so funny? ,"

"You the fact that you never think its your fault,"

"So its my fault that Noah was in and plane crash and its my fault that you choked me for trying to comfort you?! Cmon really I heard better excuses from you August," he yells over me.

"I just want to drop this bullshit,"

"Just drop it and put it under the rug and act like it never happened, "

"Yes;" he runs his hands over his face.

"Too fucking bad!,"

"Watch your mouth,"

"Or what? You going to hit me! DO IT!," He grabs me and I can see the frustration in his eyes. "Do it,"

"Mom?," Adrian walks out from the other room. "Is everything okay? ,"

"Yes baby," August lets me go and I walk to Adrian. "Cmon,"

"Dammit"I hear August curse to himself.
