Iori was just thankful she didn't have to take the bus with the team.

It had been a while since she had been to a volleyball tournament, but the last time she was at the prelims, she had a bye on most of the games. It was no different for Inarizaki; they had a bye on the first few rounds, seeing as they had gone to nationals last year, and they were the favorite to win this year.

She and Miyoko had gotten into a mini-fight in the groupchat on why Iori had to go, as there was absolutely no way they would lose, but Miyoko stood her ground quite well.

So, it was now nine in the morning, and Iori was trudging through a packed gymnasium with bags under her eyes on a Sunday, of all days. She considered smashing the camera and calling it an accident, but Miyoko would probably yell at her anyways.

The past few weeks had been nothing but a cycle, with her day consisting of too much interaction with Atsumu and not a lot of interaction with Osamu (Maruyama had proclaimed it was unfair to Osamu, to which Iori had very plainly stated that it was not a competition).

During practice, there would be an unspoken tension between the two, and while it wasn't hindering their ability to play, it was very much so noticeable. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays had become her solace, only because she could leave class and go straight to the club room.

Of course, Miyoko had been sour enough to replace her as advice columnist, which mirrored the path that Takahashi and Yamada had eventually gone down. Yamada went from Academic columnist to sports columnist only in about one month.

Oh my god. As Iori fumbled with the camera in front of her, the thought of Yamada and Takahashi flew through her brain. Takahashi had been club president last year, and she and Yamada were consistently fighting by the end of the year.

Iori nearly cringed. Miyoko was going down the same path as Takahashi. By the end of this year, they would probably be going back and forth, back and forth.

Well, she thought, sitting down on a bench, at least it gives me a reason to inevitably quit.

Putting the camera down, Iori got out her phone to look at the schedule. She had to be on court to gain permission from the referees before the game, and then she had to make sure everything was working correctly with her camera.

"I can do that before I go in," she murmured to herself, looking up to scan the room. In the corner, a couple of girls standing in expensive-looking red and black tracksuits caught her eye.
