Iori had slept on the bus. In an excuse for "preserving anonymity," she's ended up sitting next to Kita, who studied for most of the ride over.

Oftentimes Iori would find herself staring at Kita's work, his handwriting neatly organized line after line. He might as well have been typing because his handwriting resembled a default font more than it did somebody's handwriting.

He was pretty smart, too. He didn't mess up a lot and rarely had to revise his notes. At this point, Kita looked more like a god than he did a high school student.

Arriving in Tokyo was a different story, though. The last time she was here, she'd stayed with Miwa and spent most of her time fiddling with her camera. This time, she would get to hover around more people, different teams that she enjoyed more than she enjoyed her own.

Tsuru had apparently worked up the courage to come (her fear of seeing Sakusa in public was hard to get over, apparently, but she would've rather taken the opportunity to see Iori than missed it) with Nana and Kyo, and they were set to arrive tomorrow.

To be quite honest, Iori had found herself forgetting all about her current predicament. That is until about 15 minutes before they arrived at their destination. Almost the entire team was asleep, save for Kita and herself, both of which mindlessly gazing out the window.

Kita turned to face Iori, making solid eye contact with her. "So," he began, speaking in a hushed tone. "You 'nd Osamu, huh?"

Iori's eyes became the size of some golf balls after he said that, her voice getting caught in her throat. Kita found it quite funny, letting out a small laugh in response to Iori's surprise.

"Yeah, okay...well, I want to say I trust you more than him," he began, his smile fading a bit. "Don't make a mistake, alright? Especially with your going-away so soon."

"Right," Iori managed to choke out. "Thanks."

"No problem. It's a captain's job."

It went silent for a moment, Iori trying to find something to say so she could break the now awkward silence.

"When do we get the brackets?" she questioned, clearing her throat.

"Coach is gonna tell us at dinner," Kita said, looking back out the window. "We usually get takeout and watch a game of whatever team we're playing. Because we have a bye for the first round, we don't have a game tomorrow...usually, he tells us earlier, but he was waiting for a better quality recording for one of the teams."
