When in doubt, God once said, turn to Nishinoya Yuu. He may be an idiot, God continued, but he's somehow good at emotions.

"I think you're in the right here," Yuu said. "I feel like he took advantage of you, in a way. Even if he didn't mean it."

Iori chewed on the inside of her cheek as she listened, glancing at the clock. He would be arriving in fifteen minutes for their tiny before-nationals date.

"I mean, didn't you say you two started getting closer when your mom died? It was barely three weeks after she passed that he asked you out," he continued. "So yeah, he did sign up for it. You're emotionally vulnerable right now."

"I still feel bad that I even felt that way in the first place, though," Iori sighed, flopping back onto her bed. "I run away from all of my problems, which is a problem in and of itself, but this is something I can't run away from."

"Then maybe you should break up with him now. Sooner or later it's going to happen...I mean, we're in high school. How far can something go in high school? Plus, once his brother finds out, things are gonna be rocky again."

Yeah, Iori thought, staring at the colorless ceiling. He's right.

"It's not gonna matter next week, anyway. You'll be too busy hanging out with the better team to pay attention to them," he said. "You're gonna need to scold the first years, anyway. They're taking after the twins."

"What? What do you mean?"

"One of Yachi's friends is kind of in the middle of Kageyama and Tsukishima right now," Yuu laughed, his voice returning to its normal jovial tone. "She's way better at handling it than you, though. I can't tell if she's just dense or really good at acting like it."

"Really? What's her name?" Iori asked, taking another quick glance at the clock. She'd need to hang up after this. "Slap Kageyama and Tsukishima for me."

"Uh...let me...Yukimi," he answered. "Dunno her last name. She's cute, though, real nice."

"Ah! My parents wanted to name me Yukimi, but my dad was convinced it was too boyish," Iori exclaimed, realizing all too late that she probably shouldn't have said that. Of course, Yuu laughed anyway.

"I'll make sure to tell the first years you said that."

The sound of a knock at the door made Iori's stomach drop a little bit. Frowning, she looked back at the phone, but Yuu had already hung up—he must've heard it.
