Chapter 36: Ritsu and Ai Teach Someone

A week later, Kaoru's English lessons start again. This time, Hayasaka will also be teaching her.

"Hello, Kiyohime-san! I'm Ai Hayasaka, I'll also be teaching you today."

Kaoru glares at her.

"Okay, rude."

"Well then, shall we start?" Ritsu says.

"Ooh, classic literature! My favorite!" Hayasaka gets excited.

Ritsu hands Kaoru a copy of Romeo and Juliet.

"Read this. Later I'll ask you some questions about the story."

Hayasaka looks at Ritsu with a smug face.

"I didn't know you were a teacher, Ritsu-sensei."

"Well, you're a teacher for today too."

"Hey, uh... Ritsu-sensei? What did he mean by a Montague can't attend a party of a Capulet?" Kaoru asks.

"I told you to stop calling me that! Also, it means that there's conflict between the two families."

"Okay, got it!" Kaoru then continues reading.

Thirty minutes later, Kaoru finishes the book, crying.

"It was beautiful!"

"Okay..?" Ritsu says, confused.

"Let her calm down for a minute before asking the questions." Hayasaka says.

A minute later, Kaoru calms down.

"Okay, question time! I'm ready!" Kaoru says, fired up.

"First question: To which city does Romeo go after being exiled from Verona?" Hayasaka asks the questions.

"Okay... uh... let's see... was it Mantua?" Kaoru answers.

"Correct."

"Next question: Why was Romeo exiled?"

"For killing that one guy." Kaoru answers, more confident than last time.

"What was his name?"

"Tybalt... or something?"

"Correct."

"Third question: What was the name of the Friar that wed Romeo and Juliet?"

"Friar Lawrence!"

A few more rounds of answering verbal questions later...

"I'm tired... here you go. The same questions from earlier, this time, with answers. Thanks, Ritsu-kun." Hayasaka gives Kaoru a notebook.

Ritsu looks at the clock. "Shall we go home? It's already 6 pm."

"Bye, Ritsu-san! Bye, Hayasaka-san!" Kaoru waves at them goodbye.

"You're getting fetched today? Nice." Ritsu smiles, and the two of them leave.
