"Pwede bang tabihan mo nalang ako?"

His question echoed inside me like it's shouted inside a cave or something. I don't know if it's the fever or him talking.

Packing tape!

"Hindi ako pumapatol sa may girlfriend na. Ayokong maging sabit," gigil kong sabi sa kanya.

He gave me a disoriented look. Mukhang hindi n'ya naintindihan ang sinabi ko.

He moved on one side of the bed and tapped the space beside him. Hindi malaki ang kama namin at sa kanya pa lamang ay sikip na, paano pa kaya kung dumagdag ako.

"Bakit ka ba nandito?" I went back to the question I was asking earlier. He never gave me an accurate answer. Humiga ako sa tabi n'ya pero sa halip na sumagot ay pumikit lamang s'ya.

Bumaling ako sa kanya, memorizing his features. Ramdam ko na mainit pa rin s'ya dahil ng lagnat.

"You're so hot," mahina kong bulong sa kanya. He opened his eyes and our gazes intersected. He bit his lip trying to stop smiling.

"I know," he chuckled afterwards. Napairap nalang ako sa kanya.

"You are way too confusing, Lorenzo," I can't help but to say.

"Baka hinahanap ka nina Manang," I changed the topic. Masyado akong nalunod sa paraan ng pagtitig n'ya.

"Let's stay here for a bit," he scooted himself closer to me. Hinayaan ko na lang muna s'ya, only because he's sick.

Tsaka, hindi naman alam ni Melissa.

The sun is back to business again, scorching beyond its peak. Everything around me screamed summer, highlighting the blue skies and calm trees.

Nagyaya si Melissa na mag-swimming. I automatically declined but as soon as my brother heard the invitation, he's the first one to second the motion. Kaya naghahanda ako ngayon ng damit namin ni Kael. We also invited Yñigo at sakto naman na paalis si Lola kaya pinabantayan muna s'ya sa amin. And like what I've concluded, Kael and Yñigo would really click.

Pagkatapos ng pagpunta ni Lorenzo sa bahay, ginawa ko ang lahat para hindi kami magkita. I would bring the dollhouse in their living room from time to time then take it back to the library before heading home. Isa pa, iyon ang pinakamabisang solusyon lalo pa't kasama n'ya ang girlfriend n'ya sa iisang bubong.

Naglalakad na kami papunta sa mga Agustin. Dala ko ang gamit ng dalawang bata samantalang tig-isa naman sila sa pagdadala ng sisiw.

"Priya!" a girly voice screamed from afar. I faked a smile at her. "Kanina pa kita inaantay! I was planning to swim in the pool nalang since medyo malalaki raw yung alon sa dagat."

"They have a pool?" she gave me the 'duh' look. Ilang araw na akong pagala-gala sa mansyon pero wala akong nakikitang pool.

"Of course! It's at the back of the house if you're wondering," she said as if she read what I was thinking earlier.

Inilapag ko ang gamit namin sa may sofa. Mga pamalit na damit lang ang dala ko pati nina Kael at Yñigo.

"Don't tell me you're wearing that," she surveyed me from head to toe, lips twitching, probably unsatisfied with my choice of clothing.

I'm wearing a green halter top and floral shorts for the bottoms. It's the best I've got! Kasama iyon sa nabili ko sa tiangge.

"What's wrong with my clothes?" tanong ko sa kanya.
