Wakas

"Kuya! Kuya! Kuya! Kuya!" Isidro and his loud mouth. Daig parati ang babae sa sobrang daldal.

"Bakit?" Nakadungaw s'ya sa may pintuan ko.

"Kuya!" sigaw n'ya ulit.

"Bakit nga?" pagtatanong ko.

"Kuya, tawag ka ni Lolo," iyon lang pala ang sasabihin.

"Sabihin mo may ginagawa ako," I said.

"Ge. Bye," maikling sagot n'ya bago lumabas ng kwarto.

I just finished working on my miniature house, which my father asked. Ilang araw ko rin iyong pinagpuyatan, cons of having him as a perfectionist.

Makailang oras ay bumaba na ako para hanapin si Lolo dahil baka importante ang sasabihin. Katutungtong ko palang sa hagdan ay may narinig na akong malakas na pagbagsak. I ran downstairs and went to the living room as I followed the sound.

Doon ko nakita ang pagguho ng project ko. I tried to remain calm. I tried.

"What the hell is happening here?" ipinalibot ko ang tingin sa buong sala. Sid was there with his usual dirty attire. Natahimik din ang ibang kasambahay. I saw two new faces. A small girl facing down while hiding a little boy behind.

"Anong nangyari dito?" tanong ko muli nang hindi makita ang mukha ng babae.

"Sir, kung makikita n'yo po nahulog po yung dollhouse," the girl said.

"D-Dollhouse?" I said in so much disbelief. She called my project a dollhouse? Pigil na pigil naman ng tawa si Dim sa tabi n'ya.

"Sir, pasensya na po. Hindi ko po sinasandya ang nangyari." This time, she looked at me.

She got this chinky eyes and pointed nose. Petal colored lips and high cheekbones. There was something about the way she looks at me, like he wasn't actually staring at me but rather, staring at herself in my eyes.

Maganda s'ya. Pero sinira n'ya ang project ko.

"May girlfriend ka? Mag-a-apply sana ako," she whispered, enough for me to here. Sa kanya lang ako nakarining ng ganoong pagsasalita. I was taken aback.

"I'll be expecting you here tomorrow morning," was my only excuse.

She looks so small and she looks like trouble. She sounds like huge danger waiting to ruin me.

I went back to my room only to be distracted. Hindi naman ako makababa at hindi ko alam kung bakit. I waited until the maids called me for dinner.

Nadatnan ko s'yang malaking malaki ang ngiti habang nakaupo. Her eyes danced with amusement as she looked at the dishes. She looked a bit silly and cute watching the maids place them in the tables one by one.

Pero mukhang yung kapatid ko ang gusto n'ya. She'd been making weird gestures while facing him. Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling pero nawalan ako ng gana kumain.

I stood to get back to my room only to be taken aback for the second time, in one day.

"Wait!" she called. I didn't know if it was for me but I still looked back. "Anong pangalan mo?"

I studied her reaction to see if she was joking but she seemed serious. "Lorenzo."

Then she did the most ruthless thing. She smiled. She smiled at me. Nginitian n'ya ako. I recalled Sid's words when he first liked a girl. Nababakla na rin yata ako.
