It was back to that eerie feeling in that room. It was yet again...quiet.

Bored, you watched as Ryuzaki threw a couple more sugar cubes into his tea cup, sipping it instantly. He had not once turned around, he had not once spoken... nothing

Though you wouldn't be able to tell he was upset from the naked eye, YOU knew he was.

He had those small quirks that you could recognize easily

He was

-Quiet

- clenching his teeth

- adding more and more sugar to his tea, and drinking it as a distractor

-tightly grasping his knee

-biting his lip

This wasn't all, but you knew it was the small things like this that he did when he was upset.

You widened your eyes as he decided to drink the rest of the tea in one gulp

He was thinking about something...

"Misa... how did you get Higuchi to confess that he was Kira..?"
Light asked Misa. They were literally standing behind Ryuzaki, maybe a few inches away

The rest of the men stood off to the side, talking in a small circle

You, on the other hand, just quietly sat at the end of the table with a book. Even as an assistant, Ryuzaki doesn't tell you to do much. You wish he did, it gets boring..

"-Easy! That guy's totally in love with me! All I had to do was tell him i'd marry him if he was Kira. Plus, I managed to convince him that i'm second Kira!"

Looking up at the girl, you raised an eyebrow

"Misa!" Light scolded
"You idiot! Didn't I tell you to deny all that?!"

Damn..

"But-But now we know Higuchi is Kira, right..? So what's the problem? Can't we catch him?"

You saw Watari come in and wave you over to the kitchen

Finally, something to do. The bakery people must have prepared something

Finally into the kitchen, you ran over to him with a smile, and hugged him
"Watari!"

He smiled and hugged you back
"Nice to see you, dear."

You pulled away with a smile possibly even brighter

"Could you be a sweetheart and help me roll this in for Ryuzaki?"
He asked

"Of course!"

It was a large round platter with four different shelves filled with multiple kinds of pastries

With another smile, you carefully took it

"Hows the boy been doing?"
He asked

"He's been just fine. I don't think he likes being with Light, though."

"You could tell, too?"
He asked and you both laughed

Though you started to roll the pastries in, so you both had to quiet down walking back into the headquarters room.

And all you heard was Misa and Light quarreling

Ryuzaki grabbed one of them from the platter as soon as it approached him. His fingers purposefully brushed against yours.
"Thank you.." He said, looking up at your blush
