Clichè New Year (Natsu Dragneel; Fairy Tail)

Yo~ Here I am with another random one-shot created by moi. As usual, I only wrote (correction: typed) this because I was bored and all that .-. And now, here's Natsu with the disclaimer!

Natsu: Hey Angel!

Me: Hi Natsu! Can you do the disclaimer? For the readers you know. *closed-eyes smile*

Natsu: Sure thing! *ruffles my head*

Me: *pouts and crosses arms* Just do it....

Me: *looks around for fangirls* Thanks-

Fangirls: NATSU-KUUUUNNNN!!!!!

Me: Run you fool! Run! *grabs hand and runs*

I smiled, making my way towards the guild. It's New Year's today so the Fairy Tail guild decided to celebrate a party, complete with food, music and fireworks. We only have atleast one more hour until it was midnight. Correction: 55 minutes.

It was a rough day for you, having to put up with your grouchy boss at your part-time job, your pet cat destroying the furniture just because of a tiny mouse, bad luck seems like it loves to torture you and, worst of all, the couples together passing by either holding hands, cuddling, smiling, laughing, heck, even pecking each other's lips.

It was known that you were still single despite all of your friends having been hooked up with their crushes or unexpected loves in their lives. Moping about your relationship status, you trudged the way to the rest of the guild, loud music and cheering erupting out of it.

Well, atleast the Fairy Tail family will keep you company, also a certain pink-haired fire dragon slayer. Pink made it's way to your (s/c) cheeks at the mere thought of him. You admit, you had always had a crush on Natsu eversince you joined the guild. Even though he's dense and an idiot, he can still cheer anyone and lit their spirits up and his determination pays off for his idiotic antics.

You sighed, (h/l), (h/c) locks brushing your cheeks and covering your eyes as you lifted up your (color) scarf up to your nose. It seems funny though. Your love story seems like a hopeless romantic's, a love that was fantasized, a love that wanted to be returned in desperation.

Hopefully, this party will just be the right fixer upper for your glum mood. After all, the guild members make a loud ruckus that you won't even get a chance to mope for about a minute or so.

With that in mind, you hurriedly went inside the said guild and was greeted by your best friend, none other than Lucy Heartfilia. "Hi _____! I thought you wouldn't make it in time for the fireworks!" The blonde shouted over the loud music and proceeded to hug you as you returned her hug and greeting her a Happy New Year.

"Oh and here, a secret admirer left this for you." Lucy winked, her brown orbs holding an "I-know-something-you-don't-know" glint as she handed me a (f/c) note card. My face read "What-the-heck" but nonetheless, I took it and she left me in the crowd. She probably went to Loki, her zodiac boyfriend.

I pictured the couple in my mind and chuckled. They are a cute couple after all. I shook the thougt away for now and proceeded to open the note. The content made me more curious than I thought I would be.

"Hi ______,

I've been meaning to tell you this in person, but I'm such a wimp and I suck at these romantic stuff so I had to write to you instead. I love your smile, your shining, smooth, (h/l), (h/c) hair, your gleaming (e/c) eyes, I love everything about you. What I've been meaning to say is, I love you.

If you want to know who I am, meet me outside 3 minutes before midnight.

Sincerely,
Your secret admirer"

You blushed for the second time. This note flattered you and it intrigued you at the same time. Whoever sent this must really like you to let his identity a secret for a while, either not wanting to get friend-zoned or anxious to know your answer.

You slipped the note in your coat and loomed at the watch you conviniently have strapped on your wrist. "What the heck?" You thought, eyes widening at the time. "I have freaking ten minues left?! Are you flipping serious?!" You silently cursed and scanned the crowd for a certain dragon slayer, but he was nowhere in sight.

You asked every person inside if they've seen him. They all answered no with that same glint in Lucy's eyes earlier with either a smirk, smile or a poker face. Groaning, you looked at your watch again. "I have five minutes left. Well, ****. I give up." Sighing, you slowly made your way to the entrance, taking your time to see the mystery person who sent you that note.

3 minutes leftand you were now outside to see a sight that made your heart jump to your throat in shock. There outside stood Natsu, that pink-haired idiot holding a bouquet of (f/f) and his signature grin on his face.

I fought my blush from appearing and made my way to him, grin still in place. As soon as I reached him, he shoved the bouquet to me as he turned his head away, blushing and nervous which is totally out of character for him. "Th-they're for y-you." He stuttered, hesitantly facing me again with a blush coating his cheeks.

I smirked and asked a question that surprised him, "Erza and Lucy gave you romantic advice eh?" I giggled as his blush intensified and that goofy grin of his came back as he hugged me. "Yeah, I just don't know how to tell you. You know I'm not really good at this...." He trailed off as I chuckled out a sentence. "I love you, you idiot. You just have to be yourself."

Heart pounding, butterflies fluttering in my stomach and standing on my tip toes, I made the first move and kissed him. His eyes widened, but he recovered and kissed back gently. How he knows to kiss, I don't know. All that matters was that we were in our own world, not minding what was happening around us.

Suddenly, I heard the crackling and popping of fireworks in the sky. Clichè right? But a hopeless romantic can dream. As we released the kiss, smiles were on our faces and cheering erupted from behind us, either a "Happy New Year!" or a "Congrats!".

The both of us jumped apart from each other as we heard the latter. The whole Fairy Tail family was there, either drunk or not, they had smirks and smiles on their faces and kept congratulating us.

When Gray congratulated and mocked him at the same time, Natsu challenged him as a fight between them started to break. Good thing Erza was there or the guild would be burnt down to ashes. Even after all this, I laughed and hugged him.

"Best New Year's Day ever!!"
