It had been about two weeks since the incident of Veracity and Natalie falling off of the robot and landing in the ocean. Both girls ended up catching a bad case of pneumonia and had to sit out of Mech X4 activities for a little while. Luckily, there was no monster attacks, so no one was in danger. Many of the members spent that time preparing for the Arctic trip. Luckily, Veracity and Natalie were able to recover in time for the trip up North. Mech X4 had all seven members ready and healthy to take on Traeger and his plan.
It was finally the day. Everyone had gotten up bright and early to arrive to the robot at a good time, so they could leave right away. Well, most members of the team had done that. Leo Mendel had stayed behind to do more research on a study he was doing. Mark made plans to go to a video game convention with his girlfriend, so he would be showing up later. Lastly, Spyder had to attend temple in the morning with his family. Usually, he tried his best to wiggle his way out of the long readings of Hebrew but for some reason, he insisted on going. At least Veracity, Natalie, Hana and Ryan were all there on time.
The three girls sat in the control centre just discussing plans as Ryan did some last minute check ups on the robot. They were so immersed in their conversation that they didn't realized that the elevator doors opened to reveal Spyder. They all turned their heads at his loud arrival, since he basically tripped into the room. They all started dying of laughter at his appearance. Spyder was dressed in an suit that was clearly too big for him and he looked like he could be a contestant on the next season of The Apprentice.
"You look so dumb." Veracity laughed.
"You wanna buy a time share?" Natalie wheezed, causing Hana and Veracity to laugh even harder.
"We just need to spray paint him orange and he would look like Donald Trump." Hana pointed out.
"Alright, alright, make fun of me all you want. I'll have you know that I'm a man now. Bar mitzvahed, this morning." Spyder happily grinned.
"Are you really a man or did you cheat again?" Hana asked mockingly.
Natalie and Hana had attended the boy's original bar mitzvah and it was awkward. Spyder had asked Natalie to write the English translation of his Torah readings on his arms. He was supposed to practice his reading for the event but instead, pushed it to the last minute and crammed it all within the hour before to not embarrass himself.
