"What the fuck do you want to talk about?" I ask, surprised by the gun being pointed at me. "Get that gun out of my fucking face!" I shriek.
"Shut up!" Andreas says, firmly. "Move to the chair! And you better move slowly, because one unexpected move from you and I'll shoot." He says, motioning towards the table with his gun. I take in a deep breath, trying to figure out what angle to best use in this situation, even though I'm not entirely sure I've got the upper hand right now. "Get moving!"
Biting down on my lips, I do as he says. My feet move slowly against the ground, till I make it to the dining room table. I pull out a chair and sit down. Andreas follows my lead, sitting right across from me. He stares at me blankly, his gun still pointing in my direction.
"What is this about, Andreas?" I ask, my patience running thin.
"The perfume you have on... where did you get it from?" He asks with a raised eyebrow. "And don't you even think for a second about lying to me Alex. I'll blow your brains out right here, right now!"
Fucking shit, this is all Elijah's fault! Him and his stupid scent!
I gulp. You could tell from the sound of his voice that he was dead serious. "A friend of mine gifted it to me, as a Christmas present." I quickly make up. "Are you allergic to it, or something?" Andreas scoffs. "And what's this friend's name? Where are they from?"
I clear my throat. "She's from New York and her name is Hilary."
"What else?"
My eyebrows raise. "What the hell do you mean, what else? That's it. What? You want an essay about her? Because if you do, I'm sorry to disappoint, it's not happening."
He inches the gun forward as he leans in. "Tell me the truth."
"I am!" I shout, slamming my hands down on the table. I breathe heavily as my eyes glare into his. "Tell me what this is about Andreas because I sure as hell didn't come here, just to get a gun pointed at me for no reason."
He cocks his head at me. "You're fucking lying to me, Alex!" He shouts. "And I fucking know it, because that scent isn't perfume, it's a discontinued cologne from Germany!" He breaks down to me. "I don't like liars. Never have and never will, so tell me the truth Alex. Where did you get the fucking Cologne!"
Holy fucking shit!
I lean back, trying to mask the fact that my mind is running all over the place. I'm not sure what to say, so I go with the first thing that comes to mind.
Lord, please let him believe me.
"Fine." My hand runs through my hair. "You want the truth? Then, I'll tell you the truth." I stand up. "The cologne belonged to Hillary. She bought it while she was on her Germany trip, to give it to her husband as an anniversary gift. But, that never happened because I stole the cologne from her before she had the chance too... And before you judge me, know that I grew up differently from other people. Before I was the woman that had enough money to bank at your bank, I was a girl struggling to make a name for myself. So, I stole things from people, even people close to me. I'm not proud of it, and being broke isn't an excuse to steal from anyone, but I needed to do it to get by." Blinking, tears fall from my eyes. "I stole the damn cologne with intentions to sell it since it was expensive... but I kept the damn thing because it reminds me of the friendship that I once had... and because it smells better than my regular perfume. I'm weird like that..."
"You for real?" He questions me, and I nod my head, wiping away my fake tears. "Shit." He cursed. Andreas looks at me and regret soon fills his eyes as he slowly puts down his gun. "I'm so sorry Alex. Sometimes I can be a little repulsive... my anger gets the best of me and I've got no time to process it all before I lash out."
