Chapter 34- Witches and Warlocks

Angel's POV

Darkness now cloaked the area as the moon rose to its throne, not a cloud in sight to dim its light. I stared out the window of the room absentmindedly, my mind wondered but never stayed on anything specific.

I had longed finished preparing for the assembly and waiting for the kids. I never fancied makeup so getting ready took a short time for me but the kids have to suffer at the hands of Angelica. I had it easy and just can pick anything of outfits she put together in my closet but they are going to try on outfits after outfits until she was satisfied. Pfffft can't I just say no to this? Nah, she's too cute.

"Ma?" Angelica voiced sounded by the door.

"Mmm." I glanced at her and she entered, sitting beside me on the bed. It was quiet for while until she finally said what's on her mind.

"Alpha Hunter. He's your second chance mate." Even though she whispered it, she didn't have any uncertainty in her voice.

I hummed in response, I'm not surprised, she was always very observant and could read a person by there body language and from the way my body keep tensing it's basically a beam of light pointing in her face.

"You don't want to reject him. What exactly holding you back from accepting him?" She inquired as I continued staring at the trees dancing along to the rhythm of the wind.

I remained silent, I know she already have a hypothesis and it's probably right. I'm not one to use a single egg to judge the whole batch but with the events that I encountered with Ace I can't help but repulse the bond yet at the same time I craved it. Then I don't want just any guy in my children life, mate or not, the past already proven that you can't rely on a bond to have a good mate. Plus I prefer my pups to decide if they want anyone presence in their life, it's really up to them if they want Hunter here or not.

"Ma, we have no issue with you mating with Alpha Hunter." Angelica stated, staring unwaveringly at me.

I remain silent at her statement and stared thoughtfully at her. Should I feel disappointed or overjoyed? I feel neither.

"After such a short time?" I murmured

"We can tell that he's a good gu- uhm that he's good to us by his gaze. He's reserved but treasures family. Honestly the only issue I saw was his self confidence, something happened to him in the his past that didn't affect him positively." I raised an eyebrow at her, that was I thought too.

It's the same thing with Andy, although he said that he wanted
to see who truly wanted to be his friend and didn't have hidden motives, I think that was only a part of it.

I only simply replied to her deduction, "I see."

Before either of us could say anything more, my door was pushed open. I threw a pen in the direction of the door, if it's my kids then it's fine, if not, they're dead. Angelo caught the pen before it buried itself in his head, a trail of blood trickled down. I frowned, it was a small amount of blood and the wound healed in seconds.

I narrowed my eyes, "You go one day without training and you get this weak."

He looked offended like he's been accused. "You're the one who got strong over the few days."

"Suuure." I haven't fight since we came here and my training now consisted of me eating and watching them train.

I saw Angela and Rose departing from their room, we left together for the assembly. Everyone dressed casually and was already mingling while the royalties and leaders conversed on the platform. We followed the program but stood clear of any elves and started with wolves as Angelo's suggestion. We had spotted a group of six and decided to start with them, it's going well so far and they are really unfriendly.
